My point is, when was the last time you seen these characters in a fighting game? A long ass time ago.
Rose was in Capcom Fighitng Evolution which was released on consoles in 2005, so it wasn't a long ass time ago.
Characters like Cammy and Sakura ( Aka Fanboy characters ) get all these damn games.
Yeah cause they're popular characters that help sell the game(s)
Why would you put in the least popular SF characters if you're trying to sell the game? Not to mention if you included Rose over Sakura/Cammy you'd just get a ton of people complaining about how they're not in the game while you might have one or two people that are glad Rose is in the game, ie it's not worth it.
Rose is as original as they come, can tie in VERY WELL with why Dictator is still alive, and really is a popular Alpha character.
It doesn't matter if she's original, what does matter is how popular she is, and how well she would fit with SFIV.
At the end of the day SFIV isn't about personal prefrence, it's what works best for the game in terms of look/style, gameplay, and sales.
As for Bison's SFIV storyline, it's already been stated that Seth is responsible for Bison's return.
In terms of popular Alpha characters, Sakura, Dan, Karin, Guy, and Cody are more popular then Rose, and as such any one of them should be included over Rose.
1. Nobody liked Fighting Jam, let alone played it for more then 2 - 4 weeks. Dont even try to go there.
2. Rose playstyle/looks would go great with IV imo. Her moves arent to wacky for the game at all. And her design can even change regarding the years she hasnt been in a Street Fighter tournement.
3. Ono is being REALLY mysterious with the whole Seth being the reason he is alive thin. So Rose can get in there SOME HOW. No one really cares about the story anyway, they just want to see their character in the game.
I understand why Sakura and Cammy are in the games, but there are a lot of people who want them to mix up the cast as well.
P.S. that poll was just sad. THAT many for Cammy? When did Cammy become such a big character? When fanboys found out all she wears is a one piece.
Here are the full results, however basing any expectations about more SFIV characters on the placing of the finishers would be... unwise. As I think I said someplace (maybe it was at the Comic-Con panel?), Cammy crushed the competition:

Yeah guy is a popular character. His unique style of gameplay would add flavour to SF4 home version. Playing on-line I would like to see what player is great at using guy. :)
