Mega Man 9 Mystery

Trivia
- Splash Woman isn't a man in Japan. The infamous "We can play back his memory to see why he went crazy!" is only a mistranslation in the US version of the game. The Japanese version doesn't use gender specific words such as "he" or "his".

US Version
Roll: "We can play back his memory to see why he went crazy!"

JPN Version
ロール: 「これで、あばれていたロボットの きおくを 再生する事が できるわ!」

Romaji
Rooru: "Kore de, abareteita robotto no kioku wo saisei suru koto ga dekiru wa!"

My (poor) Translation
Roll: "With this, [We] can play back the crazed robot's memories!"

...Desu.

I'll be the one to solve THIS Mystery!

The grabber enemy is from Megaman X, which is seen in multiple levels but most commonly Launch Octopus; it could possibly a prototype version of it

Don't know if anyone's said this before but Bass has the same "Sprite" as Megaman, maybe that was supposed to be Megamans "formes", as in, Rush armor. Or, just that Bass is made from Megamans "Base" sprite. I'm guessing it's one of these.

I had originally suspected there was a street fighter reference in the game, perhaps a robot master that looks like or acts like a street fighter character, or has similar moves Alas, none of the robot masters are such. Concrete Man and Tornado Man were my suspicions, though i checked all of them to be sure.

On another note, I don't think anyone except the above poster has mentioned bass' megaman sprite...good find.

I just see 8-bit Bass as Megaman with Bass's helmet. Also, another guess, don't know if anyone else has said, not going through 73 pages, But Bass isn't being repaired, he's dieing. Didn't Wily say once, forgot which game, that Bass was made of an element called "Basstinoim" (Can't spell it, sorry) and that he would "expire"? Maybe that's whats happening to Bass, he's slowly dieing because of the element, or Wily has dismantled him, trying to make a NEW Bass.

Also, yes, i know, most of this is Spectulation, but i would think it would be an AWESOME idea to see a second Bass. Maybe in Megaman 10... *hint hint capcom, hint hint*

Also, maybe the secret is that there IS no secret at all. I mean, no one has gotten it right yet, and so many things have been said.

Robot master selected screen comparisons
- MM2, Stars moving to the right.
- MM5, Stars falling towards the bottom left corner.
- MM7, Stars moving to the left.
- MM&B, Stars moving to the left.
- MM9, Stars moving to the left.

Mega Man 9 Size differences
- The 360 version is 88.71MBs.
- The PS3 version is 62.9MBs.
- The Wii version is 66 blocks (only 8.3MBs!).

DLC = Unlock Keys
Xbox 360
- Special Stage (108.00KBs)
- Proto Man Mode (108.00KBs)
- Endless Attack (108.00KBs)
- Hero Mode (108.00KBs)
- SuperHero Mode (108.00KBs)

Other/Randomness
- "Dr. Wily, however, was nowhere to be found..." Uhh, we can clearly see that he's being chased by Concrete Man outside of his castle in the credits.
- Capcom U.S. came up with the idea of producing the NES style box and cartridge case. (Who from Capcom US? Was it s-kill!?)
- It's amusing how the "unlock keys" are almost the same size as the entire Mega Man 1 cartridge (128KBs).
- Dr. Light’s laboratory has a pink mailbox. (That's very cute Dr. Light)

Rumors
From MusashiAA here.
- I just noticed that...the song used in Wily Stage 2 sounds different in the Wii version that the one used in the Xbox 360 version...go, listen and compare, maybe that's the secret ^^...or maybe it's just a audio flaw? (MusashiAA)
- Hey, that "audio" stuff is in the stage select song too O.O...

- The Wii version is compressed (WAD files), that's why it's much smaller. About the sound, the duty cycles in the Wii version are different for a few songs, mostly for Wily Stage 2. The X360/PS3 music matches the official soundtrack, while the Wii doesn't, and it sounds much like a NES-ish.
