Anyone here that knows me knows how impressed I am with GGPO and Tony.  That said, so far this thread is essentially complaining about something you haven't seen yet, much less played.

With the work on SF HD Remix, hopefully you've had at least some reason to believe Capcom is working hard on the networking front, so please try and give us at least a small benefit of the doubt.  There will still be plenty of time for griping once you actually have something to gripe about Smile

best,

Seth

Ask me about my beard.  Or don't.  It's cool either way.

Guys Chill!!! good grief you guys haven't even tried the game yet and you conclude that the netcode is garbage ???

do you really think that sf4, the most anticipated fighting game in the history of video games, which is made by Capcom, the company that so far has been the first to really care abt fans and listen to them, do you really think they will mess up the net code ???

SF2THD does not use ggpo and just from the beta i had 99% lag free games, and that was an old netcode, and by the way i currently live in Morocco and was playing mostly against people from the states.

i am 100% sure that SF4 will have AWESOME net play

I was planning to ask about the netcode in a few months, but since it's been brought up, I know most of you don't want to sound demanding, you just want to be sure we get a really good netcode, just like I want to be sure there is a tournament mode like hd remix if not better.

Anyways, when capcom couldn't use ggpo for sfhd they went as far as creating the best netcode in a fighting game for consoles so there is no doubt they want to make sure this game is made right since it's one of the most anticipated games this generation and it will be played probably more than any other game which is years, where as others only last a few days, weeks, or months

Well, after I spend money on a new console, game, and stick for a system that doesnt work, I think I'll feel like crying more than griping. Although, you make a good point in saying that this is a speculation and I will give you guys benefit of the doubt.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK.

Well actually I read that in Play Magazine that it wouldn't include ggpo. So me being reckless after reading that I'm thinking wow "bad move", Capcom. But I know Capcom is not gonna let their most important game in a long time next to Resident Evil 5 fall under the radar because of bad netcoding. And as the poster under me said that STHD netcoding is still as good as being right by the player I have faith in Capcom. They'll pull something off. Hopefully the way I think they will otherwise I'll be mad dissappointed.

Everyone give support for Four Players option aka Cross Fever for Tatsunoko vs Capcom: UAS update for the console version. Go to the Tatsunoko general discussion and ask for this.

News flash:

GGPO does not have a complete monopoly on good fighting game netcode.

See: Caster netplay hacks (EFZ/MBAC/IaMP), Scarlet Weather Rhapsody's internal netcode.

That is all.

wait, what?

Hey Seth, thx for trying to allay our fears. People aren't complaining without cause, they're responding to Ono's claims that great netcode used in sfHDR doesn't work on sfiv. Its a legit concern, especially since past capcom fighting games have sucked when it comes to netcode. SFHD had sirlin cracking the whip, does Ono give a sht about netcode or is he focused on the gameplay only, net play isn't as important in japan is it, so i wouldn't be surprised if it isn't prioritised like it was in HD.

That was a jumbled paragraph, but there you go, fear of lSFIV lag can do that to your typing skills.

It just needs a good netcode like in HD Remix, not necessarily GGPO.
