Maybe some from Street Fighter 3 like Hugo, Necro, Oro, and Elena? I think those would fill in some huge voids. Perhaps even some older Street Fighter 1/Alpha characters Birdie, Rose, and Gen?
Note: I'm not asking whether or not there will be future versions of the game. This is purely hypothetical on my part. |

Rose and Gen are pretty much confirmed for the home ports of SFIV.
The only thing missing now is a SF3(TS) char. |

Sheng Long is in the game. His real name is Gouki. Ryu and Ken's master and Akuma's brother, yes he's in SF4 so no worries. |

Sheng Long doesn't exist in the Street Fighter universe. That character was only created by EGM back in the early 90's for an April Fool hoax because of a mistranslation on the arcade version of Street Fighter II. Back in the 90's a lot of player were wondering to who Ryu's quote was refering to "You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance." on the arcade version of Street Fighter II. But this was only a mistranslation from the Localization team that translated the game in english. Ryu's quote in the japanese version of the game is refering to his Shoryuken and not to a person "If you cannot break through the Rising Dragon Punch, you cannot win!". The Localization team responsible for the english translation of the game did fix this mistake later on one of the Street Fighter II SNES port. Anyway... so far the confirmed cast for the home console port of Street Fighter IV are the following: Street Fighter II: Ryu, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Chun Li, Zangief, Dhalsim, Balrog/M. Bison (Boxer), Vega/Balrog (Claw), Sagat and M. Bison/Vega (Dictator) Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Cammy, Fei Long and Akuma/Gouki Street Fighter Alpha: Sakura, Rose, Dan and Gen Street Fighter IV: Abel, El Fuerte, Crimson Viper, Rufus, Gouken, Seth So far I love the cast Capcom is using for the home console port. But for Street Fighter III characters, I would like to see the following characters in the game: Ibuki, Oro, Yang/Yun and Q. |

Aparently they won't use the SFIII characters because this game is set before that timeline. |
