Good lord, how did this turn into an Xbox vs Wii thread?

This is no longer a console war thread, didn't you see? It is a holiday cheer thread, now.

Merry Christmas.

wait, what?

haha, those images are great.A feline with a christmas hat, instant classic and the Shoyuken is priceless but before we get off topic a ps2 port wouldn't work too well and I also support a ps3 port!

Not likely to happen for the same reasons that the Wii isn't likely to get RE5.

wait, what?

Yea, don't you know? The PS3 couldn't even handle TvC's title screen.

At first I was like all bummed out that its coming for the wii, but there are two options. Ive seen pics of a arcade stick for the wii. If you cant get that, buy a X arcade joystick on the net. they are kinda expensive though but are compatible with the GC ports.

So where are the angry rants against people asking for games on their console of choice? Where is Chen Li Cha?

Oh that's right. It's only for Wii games.

it works both ways. that is, wii fans dont want to give up an exclusive.Innocent

Wii vs Xbox?  Who cares but here you go. Oh and the Xbox was pretty powerful lol it didn't use its full potential though.

Who cares? You do, obviously.

I really don't want to turn this into another Wii thread. But for clarity's sake; increased clockspeed on Wii is being used to render at 480p instead of 480i. Increased RAM is used for anti-aliasing and motion blur and bloom and textures. So yes; while it is more powerful than GCN or Xbox, keep in mind Xbox used DirectX, which allowed games like Soul Calibur 2 to run at 720p.

DirectX has nothing to do with that; the chip itself as a desktop chip was designed to do higher resolutions with more ease, while the other just wasn't designed to do them at all; but bare in ming they'd need a pretty big framebuffer for that, even for 480p actually since the Xbox GPU didn't have dedicated framebuffer or Z-buffer cache on the GPU; SC of course as a PS2 game that didn't even have texture compression and PS2 had a lot less RAM so it borrowed itself to that (it had the overhead to do it), but... to do that Xbox had to do it taking quite a bit of RAM from the main bank, a handycap in itself.

Also, I haven't seen Wii using it's "extra power" to do AA often, and motion blur isn't even that intensive; textures yeah, but that's not extra clockspeed, it's mostly more RAM. best cases of the increased clockspeed have to be Mario galaxy and it's awesome geometry and Metroid Prime 3 with it's scripted action going on in the background.

I don't even know why we are arguing about this, Wii is more powerful than GC, it has more RAM and more storage; that and... GC was comparable to Xbox, not the miles and bounds away that most people had the perception of; proven by very few games and an unknown architecture to a lot of people even today (look at some third party efforts for the Wii) but well... Wii is no PS2 and no Xbox; or a GC for that matter.

Look, if people want Tatsunoko vs Capcom on PS2, give it to them if it's possible. I'm all for tweaking games to be multiplatform and still take advantage of the hardware. Let people play how they want, where they want. It's not easy to do; but hey, that's how you keep your fans happy.

Dying platform (and doing a port now, unless it's running on a system 246, a arcade PS2, which is unlikely would take too much time for something that is already on it's encore), Capcom isn't releasing games there anymore, niche anyway and not region free for the reasons they're "asking" for it here; very unlikely move (and somewhat expensive).

Tbh, I'd say PS3 is unlikely and not worth the risk to do; but still more likely than a PS2 port at this point.
