Heh, I like how the thread topic can apply to either Strider's past or his present. There's - The manga continuity NES Side Scroller continuity Arcade Game continuity And Strider 2 is still really up in the air with regards to if it is an actual sequel to Strider 1 or a reboot... So yeah if there is another Strider game I hope Capcom can streamline this and make sense of all of it. Very similar to what Capcom did with the Super Joe and Rad Spencer of Commando and Bionic Commando series prior to Rearmed and the 3D Bionic Commando game. They did really awesome work going through the games, saying what happened and when and stuff. Would love to see Strider get the same treatment.

I believe the reason why there hasn't been a Strider game thus far had something to do with the fact that it was unlear as to who exactly owns the Strider rights, his creator or Capcom. Ben Judd (Bionic Commando) said that if he were able to give another classic Capcom franchise the same treatment as BC that it would be Strider, but Ben has also stated that he doesn't know if he wants spend another 3 years on a project the way he did with BC so that kinda puts that whole situation in an iffy place. But remember that strider is a viable series to ressurect along darkstalkers and megaman legends so they are hope. If they were as viable as you think they are they would've already been done. Inafune has been wanting to do a Legends 3 for like 10 years now, but has not been able to convince the higher ups at Capcom to do it. The Legends series was never successful, thus all signs would point to a third game not doing well, because given that the Legends series is very story driven series in which the last game ended on a cliffhanger, and at most you'd only get everyone that bought the previous Legends games to buy a Legends 3, which wouldn't be enough because not enough people bought them the first time around, nor when they were re-released on the PSP awhile back. The only way a new Legends game would be viable now is if the franchise were rebooted or they did a spiritual successor. |

Psp MML kinda put nail into coffin for Legends. Sucks it had some nice memorable chars.
I can see us not getting TvsC, but as TAS maention'd in nother thread. It'll open door for a much asked for MvsC. And good chance Strider be seen in some form.
I'm pretty sure if Fans keep pushing for it and asking. He'll get his light of day once more.
*insert witty comment and words i can't spell here*

So you are mentionning a next-gen megaman.I hope it good if capcom make it. Well when i say a franchise could ressurect,it can be anytime, for exemple, darkstalkers could have a reboot that could bring a lot of new people to the series but i understand capcom is cautious with what franchise will ressurect from the gravehard. Some might be harder to sell to audience.I shearched about darkstalkers and the last game that was released, darkstalkers chronicl the chaos tower selled 140 000 copies. It not a bad result but could have been done better. That is the sale in america. For megaman legends 3,it not going to be too hard to bring new players, all capcom would need to do is creating a video that explain what happened a while ago so new players could follow the story while not be confused. That would be good but i think that capcom should do a spiritual sucsessor rather than a sequels to a old games. |

Yeah id love to see MM2HDR lol. I really do have hopes for a next gen VJ though although clover is defunct. Maybe CAPCOM can resurrect the series. Also they should do a poll for characters the way they did with sf4. :D |

Lets all keep asking then! A new Strider Hiryu game would be fantastic!
My brothers got a candy cab arcade cabinet and owns both pcbs of Strider and the excellent Strider 2 so I tend to get my old skool fix when I visit his house.
There he goes, one of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die!

...I'd also love a new Ghouls and ghosts game on the 360 (something similar to the updated G&G psp game released a while ago).
