The time on their "in-game" clock doesn't account for the times that they reset missions or failed missions and had to retry.
If someone on their first time through does it in a real-time 6 hours, I'd be shocked to say the least. Most people on even the normal difficulties will be 9-12 hours. Even then you won't find a fraction of the "targets". ;)
That seems about the time it takes on a first play through of the original Devil May Cry. That's pretty good for this type of game.
The targets are those coins I've seen in videos and unlock achievements right? That seems kind of like a cheap way of extending the length of the game. But then again, I'm a perfectionist in games I love so I'll end up doing it anyway. Hell, I collect everything in Zelda even if I don't need it.
I'm not 100% sure how our European group is seeding code among the media, but yes, that is theoretically possible. I believe that early versions of the campaign have been sent to select media in the US so I wouldn't be surprised to see Europe using similar approaches. As far as their criteria for selection of outlets to receive code, that's nothing I can comment on as I have no insights there.
With reviews sure to pop up here in a few weeks, have you been able to smuggle the patch to reviewers? I don't want to see Lost Planet unfairly dinged for things that will be fixed for launch- few games are perfect, but if they start poo-pooing the lobby system when we will never encounter those problems, that would be bad.
No. Reviewers won't have seen any of the patch changes. Probably the first time anyone in the US will be able to see them is at the launch event in San Francisco (though they'll be pushed to Live right around that time to be ready for launch).
Most magazine reviewers will have had "reviewable code" but not quite finished code either (online sites I'm sure will have had access to the Japanese version, which is finished though unpatched as mentioned above).
