Subject says it all. I don't do fighting games, but this is one I'd buy the day it came out.
Is it being looked into if we can get it here in the States? |

Yuffie is right... You're going to have to import this game.
Funny thing is, we haven't even seen the game in action yet and so many want to play it. I hope the graphics are up there with HD. Hope Red Arremer (FireBrand in US) from Demon Crest is in it.

Soooo, which one of you is officially from Capcom? Not sure how all this works here.... Also, let's say that the copyright stars just could not align.... how about just recoloring and renaming the characters? Could Capcom get away with that? |

A similar discussion was held when Capcom first released the poll about which classic title fans would like to see come as a digital download. I remember MvC 2 being on that list and so many people were in a frenzy, "can they even do that with all the rights belonging to many different companies?" Someone who knew their stuff got on there and made a post I can't remember exactly what they said but they did say that getting the rights wouldn't be as complicated as it sounds. Deals are struck all the time in this business. With that said, the guy above me said that Japanese copyright laws aren't any easier than the U.S.'s and this game is obviously being made to be released there. If the U.S. isn't any more strict than Japan then I don't see why they can obtain the rights in Japan but not in the U.S. The thing is I think they can obtain all the necessary rights but the cost may far out-weigh the return and that is what may keep this game from coming to the U.S. Not that they can't get the rights but the fact that doing so might not be worth it to Capcom.

Well, I know that PS3 games are all region free, but I have to ask, does Capcom have any control over if a game is region free for the Xbox 360? The most I know is that sometimes the "Asia" versions of games on 360 can be region free. Would it be a reasonable request to ask for the 360's Japanese or Asia versions to be region free? Would the company consider this as a side-step to not being able to release the game internationally? Are there any negatives to them doing this that I'm not aware of? |

There are definitely some licensing hurdles in bringing the title Westward, but we are investigating the issues.

Maybe a very obvious question, but how can it be that licenses of some properties like manga/anime are scattered all over the place? Especialy here in the west, it seems everbody and everyone bought a piece of the property just to earn money. I remember the fuss about Jump Super Stars. It never came to the west because One Piece was with publisher A, Bleach with publisher D, Dragonball Z with publisher F and so on and so on... |
