About the cartoony vs realistic graphics, the cartoonish graphics are going to come out ontop with the Wii, in the sameway that the Dreamcast did with cartoony and realistic. The tech is able to do cartoony better, and ontop of that cartoony ages way better then realistic. For instance go back and look at some Dreamcast games, which ones hold up better by today's standards, the cartoony or realistic ones?

Mario Galaxy probably pushes the Wii further then anything at the moment, and surprise it's cartoony as are most of Nintendo's first party titles and since Nintendo designed the tech they've made sure that cartoony would look good.

I personally think that cartoony graphics on PS3 and 360 lose their charm.

Take the cutscenes from the PS3 Naruto game for example. (I think it was called Naruto:Ultimate Ninja 3 or something, those cut-scenes made me flinch)

The graphics in the regular gameplay are okay, but cartoon just looks better on the Wii.

If it's cartoony, i'd prefer a Wii version.

She sells sea shells by the sea shore. However a tidal wave's coming so she won't be doing that too much longer.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? None, he's a lazy b***h.

Nintendo didn't design the Wii tech. It was designed by ArtX and updated by ATI after their acquisition.

I don't know abou that.  I think the new DBZ game on PS3 looks wonderful. I think Little Big Planet has charm.  And Rare may not be what they were, but conker and viva pinata both had their charm as well.  Banjo looks assy though.  But there's still time to cleant hat up.

I'm playing Gun for the Gamecube right now.  I bought it new on ebay for $3.64.  it looks great.  Not as good as the xbox version, but still really good.  Developers are really missing out by comming up with mini-games and compilations on the Wii.  It's great for niche titles.  But I'm telling you shooters and sandbox titles have so much potential on the Wii.  Grand Theft Auto, Gun,  Max Payne, Resident Evil... Sooo good with the wii mote.  If Neversoft took their Gun GCN tech, and rebuilt it for the wii and made semi-sequel they would sell a million colies.  Which is 500,000 more copies then they sold of this bitch on xbox, xbox360, and PS2 combined.

Maybe better but that doesn't mean you still cant create a fantastic realistic looking game on the Wii, you can as RE4 has proven, the problem is developers/publishers are too lazy/too cheap to invest the time and effort to do so.

IMHO this looks every bit as good as any Nintendo title and still holds up well today Cool

RE4 was ported onto the Wii.

If it was built from the ground-up on the Wii then I wouldn't argue.

I don't get your point, because it was made on a less powerful system it doesn't count Surprised. The Game Cube has pretty much the same architecture as the Wii, difference being that its not as powerful, so if they can make a great looking realistic game on the GC, they should have no problem doing it on the Wii.

Compare the ratio of successful realistic GC games to successful cartoony GC games.

GC had a much better success rate then Wii in that regard, realistic games built from the ground up for the Wii aren't passing the grade yet.

Trying to use a game that was meant for the GC to support successful realistic Wii games doens't work due to not being originally intended for the Wii.

RE4 wasn't made on the Wii tech, it was done on the GC tech, thus that's not a good example of what the Wii can achieve as it wasn't made for the Wii, it was made for the previous Nintendo system so of course it can run on the current one, and it already looked good when it was first released and still looks good even in this next gen age, but that doesn't have anything to do with the Wii, because it's not like they completely redid the graphics for the Wii version or anything.

It's harder to make a good cartoony game then it is a realistic game. Realistic is really easy to do now with the Unreal 3 engine being used so much and so many games having the same look, thus everything has a standard now with realism, where as it's harder to do something really amazing with cartoony as there's no prefered style or set way of doing things and often times it's cartoony graphics that developers don't ever push far enough or get lazy with.
