    Capcom Art is All-Encompassing
    May 8, 2012 GregaMan

(Thanks to BTHR Zero X for the link!)

Maybe you've seen some of the Capcom art of DeviantArtist L-DAWB. It's incredible! He's creating a name for himself with his distinct style and "column of characters" format. Kind of like a rad take on the totem pole concept.

Can you name all them purty characters (full image after the jump)? I, for one, am glad to see a little GOD HAND representation!

Dawb has done a whole bunch of great Capcom art and even had some of it recently featured in the game Asura's Wrath, so head over to his DeviantArt page right now for a good time.

The Mighty Vajra - More Buddhist Imagery in Asura's Wrath
    May 2, 2012 GregaMan

Did you know that all those things piercing Asura in the above image are called Vajras? Artist and essayist Art-Eater, who has previously provided all sorts of detailed tidbits about the faithful art design of Asura's Wrath, notes that the Vajra is a prevalent Buddhist icon, its name being a Sanskrit word meaning both thunderbolt and diamond.

The Vajra is said to be an unbreakable weapon capable of penetrating any substance, and was first used to combat an Asura who had grown impervious to all other known weapons after having a wish granted by a god. Those devs sure did their homework.

Check out Art-Eater's full blog for lots more insight on the Buddhist roots of Asura's Wrath.
