Author Ernest Cline talks up Black Tiger in upcoming documentary

Aug 06, 2012 // Minish Capcom

About a month ago I posted a quick blurb on Video Games: The Movie, a documentary about the cultural impact of, you guessed it, video games. Obviously everyone here on Unity feels quite passionate about games, so it stands to reason we’re all interested in seeing what this movie has to offer when it arrives next year.

In this clip, novelist Ernest Cline (Ready Player One) celebrates Capcom’s own Black Tiger, a classic arcade title that may have slipped under some folks’ radars.

Why Black Tiger? Why, it’s Cline’s favorite game of all time! I remember dropping more than a few quarters in this back in the day, but clearly not to the level he describes in this clip. It’s a fun aside from the main movie, which again, you can contribute to over here.

You can also grab Black Tiger on the Wii Virtual Console, should Cline’s words inspire you to do so!
