A veteran hunter makes his way through the crowds in the market. He ignores the hawking cries of the vendors as he treads his well-worn path to the armory. The smith smiles as he spies the hunter, for he knows some zhenni will soon grace his palms. The hunter moves inside and begins to remove the damaged armor. Silently, he is soon finished, betraying a speed that comes from numerous practices.
The smith breaks the silence with a question, "Diablos?" The veteran hunter shakes his head. Again and again the air vibrates with names, "Rathian," "Rathalos," "Kirin," "Rajang," "Fatalis," "Akantor?"
Finally, to break the triad of questions, the veteran hunter raises his hand to his lips. He beckons the smith closer, closer..His answer is barely whispered. The smith's eyes nearly leave his head at the mention of the name. The name of the "kelbidrome."

loool have you seen the people here in the U.K who own wii's and the kind of wii games that chart.....good luck capcom you've shown us all your real gamblers......lol
A veteran hunter looks on the ground and finds a shiny cylinder that is sealed. Undaunted he plunges his carving knife into the top surface and opens it........
This is what I experienced during the Thanksgiving holiday.... 51 people on the first day and another 7 new people on the second day for leftovers. The wii was on every minute except for eating on Thursday. Mostly Guitar Hero and generic wii sports, but just think if Monster Hunter was introduced to this group and countless others. Maybe the gamble, with (or in our case without) advertising will bear rewards.

A veteran hunter pulls his head out from the ground, sits on the ground, crosses legs and forms little circles with this index finger and thumbs, then begins to make a sound: "oooooooommmmmmmmmm..." Finally he rises and states his agreement with osiris_x. Now, if Capcom would only make a television commercial for ANY Monster Hunter game like they did for LP, then sales for the GREATEST GAME ever made, Monster Hunter, would not be such a secret. Then we could complain about all the newb hunters screaming: "fatty, fatty" again. Life would be good.

No offence, but we have heard of other 'releases' that never happened. When we hear a date, then and only then will there be cause for celebration. So far, we only see Monster Hunter Tri evidence, and that is in Japanese. We all know that Japan will get Monster Hunter everything because it is a huge $$ maker (not to mention it rates a "BRAND" distinction, unlike here).
Bottom line: a name copyright = good. No release date = bad, Unite thread = good, "Heard it before" = bad.
Burn me once = shame on you (Monster Hunter Dos). Burn me twice = shame on me.

I, uh, hmm... =)
MH 2nd G in English is available... But I can't tell you that I play it, because that would imply I have hacked firmware on my PSP. And Capcom does not support versions of our games that are hacked and patched into English. I also can't tell you how much I enjoy the English patch of 2nd G. What are you trying to do, get me in trouble!?! >.<
I play Freedom 2 as well, but I've gone much farther in 2nd G due it having higher levels of "awesome" in it.

A veteran hunter slowly nods as the new hunter learns the environment of the Monster Hunter. Seemingly, it is so simple, so straightforward - you just go and 'hunt or be hunted'. But now as the morning breaks upon the lush and varied landscapes of the hunting grounds, one learns that unmentioned forces prevent the veteran from enjoying the full variety of the hunt. The veteran hunter is a moral hunter. He realizes that much of the 'awe' in the hunt is therefore denied. With a heavy 'sigh,' he returns to sharpening his weapons. There are still adventures in the known lands, but he can only dream of the lands spoken in the dark recesses of the gathering areas.
Perhaps one day, he too will enjoy the hunt with the fellow hunters from the first days.....sigh.

Isn't all this old news?
The Veteran Hunter sifts through massive missives; dust plums surround the armored one. Suddenly, he turns as if a prey had crept into the area. His grunt, similar to one hefting a mighty great sword pierces the air. With a sudden movement, belying the weight of his armor, he thrust an arm toward the bottom of a massive tomb of text. He finds the answer to your question........Yes, old news.

The veteran hunter stumbles from the repeated blows. Staggering, he draws for a hidden pool of inner strength, pulls himself upright and turns to face his opponents. Sadly, he recognizes the faces he once trusted. He manages to pry the multiple small daggers out of his back, and cries out-loud, "why, why?" The faces of the others laugh. They taunt, "Monster Hunter, monster hunter" and shriek with laughter. As one, they turn their backs upon the veteran hunter. He is not angry, for this scene is just another in a series of them. The hunter approaches, hands outstretched...as one, as in the past, with backs turned to the hunter they vanish, gone like promises unfulfilled, ignored or denied. However, the pulsating pain from multiple stab wounds reminds him that it is too real. He sighs.

A veteran hunter is stalking felyne in the forest. The goal is to reach the small alcove without being spotted. Suddenly, a loud noise breaks the silence. Falling from above, the hunter prepares to battle whichever wyvern approaches. "THUD" an object lands just outside his reach. He pauses to examine it. Slowly, he realizes that it is a gift from the gods, manna from afar - with an indication of more to follow... Only one question remains, can he survive 185 to 214 days on it?

I know...It hurt's to let the game slip away... But yeah...even Bus knows it done with. I think there is a new petition going on to remove the Region coding. If that does happen, I'll be playing it on my PS3.

As another tear slips from the veteran hunter's eye, he acknowledges the hopelessness in extracting anything more from the Monster Hunter world. Yet, he still has one small thing to say.... Hey Capcom, Please remove the region code from MonsterHunter 2 and let us purchase it for our PS2. You don't have to translate, nor make a server. Just let us play. Sorry for shouting. Maybe a cold is plugging up my ears....

A veteran hunter makes one last request. . . . . . . .Can you remove the regions code and sell the Japanese language Monster Hunter 2 to the North American followers? It should not cost too much to do this and burn the disks. You can sell them from your web site and ship them in plain manila envelopes. Or if you don't want to do that, I can buy them from your headquarters and people here could order them from me. That way I might get some use out of the P.O. Box I rented for letters.

A veteran hunter breaks camp and arrives on the grassy hilltop. As he enters, his mind is filled with familiar sounds almost as if music is playing. He wears Guild pants and carries a simple Hunter's knife. Surveying the scene, he spies docile Aptonoth grazing below and beyond the river. His campaign began 313 days ago and he was to complete it by March 5, but alas it is already ended, or has it. This is the reason he left the carousing hunters to examine his efforts and face his fate. Such heavy thoughts, he pulls a whetstone and begins to sharpen his knife, familiar motions help him to focus. Like a glove, he grasps the perfectly balanced hilt, worn to fit his hand. Its razor sharp blade reflects the mid-day sun overhead, as a gentle breeze lifts from the river's edge. Surely, this idyllic setting and late night hunting contributes to the drooping eyelids followed by the rhythmic breathing of one asleep.
He finds himself clasping a slender hammer in his hands at the floor of a large cavern. Bright, small suns attack his vision as a small flat projectile slowly approaches. He watches as it flutter seemingly within reach. It arrives unannounced, without fanfare yet he is able to glimpse a picture of a Rathalos. The flat object quietly passes though the light and is swallowed up by the darkness. Suddenly, a large booming voice calls out, "ball one." His vision adjusts to the lighting and he realizes that the cavern walls are lined with benches. Upon these benches sit many hunters. Hunters, some known, unknown and even some of legends, yet they are few compared to the size of the cavern. A noise to the east brings awareness of more hunters. They are celebrating a great award. He is drawn toward it. Then, another projectile flies past him. "Gee, I wanted to grab that one," reflects our hunter
"Strike one," booms the voice.
Startled, he realizes that wyverns and prey populate the grass area before him. They mock him as he begins to understand that he has no weapons to use against them. Yet, this small smooth hammer could help, if he could just rid himself of these flat projectiles thrown at him. Even Vespoids are less annoying. Movement announces another projectile. This one is smaller and white in color. He swings his hammer at it, launching it far into the air. It falls just to the right of a Gypceros near the base of a wall. The Gyp quickly attacks the small package; it disappears like so many items during hunts against this creature.
Again, a voice booms, "Strike two."
At this announcement the hunters to the east are yelling, and cheering. They clasp small projectiles similar to those haunting our hero. Each has a "2" written upon it along with additional strange figures. The eastern hunters are more numerous and very loud in exclaiming their pleasure. Our hunter slowly nods in understanding, then peers outward to the grassy area and awaits the next projectile. This time he will smite it with this club. Ready to hit it beyond the far wall, he waits.
Hunters from the benches cut in the cavern walls begin to chant. Our anxious hero is encouraged by their desire. Parchments by the hundreds litter the air; each is a desire from fellow hunters. As he waits, he witnesses others in foreign suits gathered together. They seem important, but are lost. Lost to the events before them and mayhap are annoyed that the growing crowd noise is drawing attention away from their little boxes. Each eye sockets is filled with a large "X" as a portion of the far wall changes. Large letters spell out the word, "LOST" and cast shadows upon the grassy area. The strangely suited persons emit gleeful noises at this change and slap their palms together. Smiling, they turn as one to leave. Then, the scarlet one holding a small pig clothed in a blue and white striped shirt, turns to our hero and silently mouths the word, "sorry," before turning off the lights.
Our hero is left standing in the dark, waiting for something he cannot see. He defiantly cries out. The deep darkness has claimed all. Does our hero imagine the sound of another projectile? Taking no chances, he swings his poor excuse for a weapon with all his strength
