I finally put some money up to get a quality arcade stick. My game hit somthing of a wall on the 360 Controler and when I looked at the tape, errors in execution was somthing I needed to adress. With an arcade stick, that process has been a step foward but 2 steps back. Some combos are easier, but some things I used to do without effort just aren't happening like they used to. That said, I've only been at it for a day, but things are looking good.
That said, to the folks at Unity, what can you tell me about Octagonal Gates vs Square Gates, making the buttons a little more resistant (as it stands, a light breeze will register as inputs on this thing), and any tips you can come up with regarding making such a dramatic switch.
yeah, swap the gates & you'll be golden. That's all you need, everything in that stick is quality sanwa parts. Great buttons, great stick. The aesthetics are up to you, but you don't need anything other than a new gate, I would say.
