What should the new Darkstalker game look like for the PS3?

Has there been mention of a Leprechaun yet? Anybody that's seen the Leprechaun movies starring Warwick Davis can attest to the fact that Leprechauns can be scary little so and sos.

Want: Darkstalkers to return in the not to distant future. Yeah, that would be great. Please?

i mentioned a banshee, not like a leprachaun. but an even better choice would be a Grogouch, they inhabited Ireland before the Celts arrived and wipped them all out. Grogouch's protect little children. do odd work for people, and leave if you offer them money; aka shiney coins. :DCool

there have been a lot of games that have Darkstalkers characters in them.

Marvel Super-Heroes (Anita is an assist), Super Gem Fighter mini mix, Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK 2,

Capcom Fighting Evolution, SNK vs Capcom, SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo,

Gunbird 2, Cannon Spike, *the 2 SNK vs Capcom card battle games*, Namco X Capcom,

Tatsunoko vs Capcom, *and the latest that comes out here in May* Cross-Edge.

somehow I forgot Marvel vs Capcom and Marvel vs Capcom 2

oh and no I wouldn't have the sales figures, but considering this many games this means the Darkstalkers...or at least Morrigan, Demitri, Felicia, and Lilith are popular. But you could always ask Capcom or look up those game titles and see for yourself. Also remember that one hasn't come out yet, two were only in Japan...so far, due to liscensing issues (TvC and NXC), others are Niche games, with a handful of arcade hits.

the point being that the Darkstalkers have never had a lull in popularity for at least some characters, enough to keep popping up in other games. Capcom just for some reason has never been secure enough with them to give them a new game.

but at that end

(who was in each: minus the card games): these figures are taken from Darkstalkers Graphic file, but I do suspect some typos, as they didn't list Jedah in Capcom Fighting Evolution when we know that he was. basically a mis-dot for those under each others, so correct me if I get some wrong, and the guide came out before the two latest ones, so TvC and Cross-Edge I can confirm from memory.

Marvel Super Heroes (Anita)

Super Gem Fighter mini mix (Morrigan, Felicia, Hsien-ko)

Marvel vs Capcom (Morrigan)

Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Morrigan, Anakaris, Felicia, B.B. Hood)

Capcom vs SNK (Morrigan)

Capcom vs SNK 2 (Morrigan)

SNK vs Capcom (Morrigan, Felicia) either Q-Bee or B.B. Hood as a hidden (never played it and like I said the guide has some mis-dots so not certain)

SNK vs Capcom 2 (Demitri)

Capcom fighting Evolution (Demitri, Felicia, Anakaris, Jedah, Pyron) Morrigan and Jon Talbain amongst others can be seen in backgrounds and endings.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (Morrigan, Felicia, Hsien-ko, Jedah, Anita)

Gunbird 2 (Morrigan)

Canon Spike (B.B. Hood)

Namco X Capcm (Demitri, Lord Raptor, Morrigan, Felicia, Huitzil, Hsien-Ko, Q-Bee, Lilith,

Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Morrigan), Lilith appears in some Morrigan moves, some endings have Huitzil and Pyron in them.

Cross-Edge (Morrigan, Lilith, Felicia, Demitri, with Jedah as the only none-playable amongst them)

looking at them, looks like the Makai characters are the most popular, with most Darkstalkers never making it into a cross-over.

So from the above information one could think that it wouid be more profitable for Capcom to develope some sort of crossover Darkstalkers video game instead of Capcom making a pure Darkstalkers video game, right ?

Oh-yeah, I didn't actually know if You would have the "sales figures" or not; it would have been nice if You did have them, however honestly I was just having some fun with You when I asked You about the "sales figures".

I imagine this pattern has lead them to keep doing cross-overs. However some are not published by Capcom so that money is going to those other companies. Namely, Namco, SNK, and NISA/Gust Studios, would be the ones making money off some of those cross-overs.

I'd love for Capcom to turn around and do their own cross-over with them, publish their own.

but at the end the money is still there to say, why not see what happens with a new Darkstalkers game? And unlike when the first 3 came out there are alot less competitors out right now in the fighting game arena.

True, and True!

The last & final point and question that You made had Me really had Me rethinking the situation (I Mean Really), however then I thought by the time a new stand-alone Darkstalkers video game is released into the market there may be other so-called competitors on the market at that same time, and then Darkstalkers & Capcom will take a hit (how big of a hit is still questionable)!

I'm still going more towards a crossover Street Fighter/Darkstalkers only video game, with SFIV elements within the design.

If You're interested in why I said that last point (boid part) then read the Blogs on My front page (You have to be on My friend list to see them).

all we need is a new darkstalkers 2D, or 3D someone do a poll. with MORE fighters, and maybe a 3D dungeon/castle mode similar to a D&D game, with food and temp power boosts. and all kinds of treasure. maybe alot like a D&D game, think EOTB.

Can't imagine how awesome the levels would look for a new DS game. Haunted Houses and all kinds of madness in the night!

As for the stages, what I'd like to see is larger stages, which are also interactive (breakable, and in some cases things in it can be used as weapons, like knocking statues over or starting fires). I always liked how each stage had its own set of differences like platforms, and various other quirks in the game Battle Monsters.

This is just some random idea I came up with...

I'm sorta thinking of adding a stage with a twisted background and creepy music. I'd like it to be hidden to spark a little curiosity.

If they made DS into a 2d game it would be a fatal mistake.
