I haven't finished either game yet, so I don't know which is longer, but I prefer 1942 to Commando 3. The art style of C3 is kind of a turn-off, especially during the cut-scenes. 1942 is more of an HD update of the classic game and plays very well. Ultimately, I'd get both if I were you, but if you're going to choose one, make it 1942... |

I love both, but 1942 has the best difficulty curve that I've ever come across. It's stays perfectly challenging while never losing its fun. 1942!

Commando 3. It goes back to Capcom's roots with the cartoony style, the animation is cool, the music couldn't be better, and the 3P multiplayer is a blast with friends! I have both, but Commando 3 was my #1 Game of the Year. The game is simply awesome, especially if you're a big fan of the old Mercs... |

C3 is good but 1942 is great. Would you rather do the 2 stick thing or press a fire button a million times? My button thumb is pretty broken in so I love shooters that make you hurt. Too many games these days rely on dual sticks in my opinion. |

I'd go with 1942. I liked both but 1942 is DEFINITELY the better of the two. It felt like it had more variety, a lotmore spit-and-polish than Commando 3("wait....were those the ONLY bosses in this whole game?!"), and the challenge keeps you on your feet. |
