Thoughts on the future of the vs. series

I heard from a credible source that Capcom was using this site to basically ask the fans on who they should add to the "vs." family of games next. Since I couldn't find the original post for that, I decided to share my ideas here, and give reasons on why they would work. Feel free to post your own opinion, or if you can, direct me to a thread where my voice has a better chance of being heard.

1. Gaming companies X, Y, and Z (Square, Atlus, etc.) Vs. Capcom

I can understand why Capcom might be a little bit sheepish about this idea. Nevermind that it creates a rivalry between the companies, but there's also the issue of who gets to do what when it comes down to programming the actual game. The final problem with this idea is that there just aren't a whole lot of companies that have as many mascots as Capcom, making the roster choices very limited. That's why the simple solution is getting more than one company involved. This not only sorts out the issue of a limited roster (because so many companies mascots are involved) but could also allow for some key design choices that set it apart. Whereas Capcom fighters would have a super meter that fills up normally, Atlus characters would perform supers based on "momentum", where it would fill up faster, but also decrease if you stopped attacking or took a hit, and so on. You don't have to even think up something creative to call it. Just name the game "Vs.", and it will stand out for what it is: the definitive game in the series thus far. (I nominate Rare for being one of said companies, and Namco)

2. 4chan vs. Capcom

You may think I'm kidding about this, but I'm not. Think about the possible matchups for a second: Longcat vs. Felicia. Annonymous vs. Viewtiful Joe. Alex vs. Richard C. Mongler. A tag-team match of Ken and Ryu vs. Moot and W.T. Snacks. I mean, come on, it's not like Taito is doing much these days. How hard could it be to get the rights to Cats from Zero Wing? The main reason Capcom asked the fans was to get ideas on a game that would better appeal to an American audience, right? And that's the thing: freakin' EVERYBODY knows these guys. Nobody has bigger celebrities than the internet, and nobody has as many that you don't have to pay a royalty fee to use (other than the ones that actually BELONG to Moot, of course). Capcom, if nothing else, I encourage you to at least run this one past your marketing team. It has too much potential not to try, and if you had any more doubts, I leave you with this: Pedobear vs. Roll.

If that seemed like a short list of ideas, well, it is. There just aren't a whole lot of sources that have enough of that gritty star power to make the cut. And no, before anybody suggests an animu company, DON'T. The key words here were "appeal to an American audience" and true, while there are plenty of American weab...otaku out there (me being one of them), it's not a formula that can or will appeal to everybody like MvC2 did. Plus, let's be honest here: Strider would murder Naruto's sorry hide. That's my personal opinion. Thank you for reading.

No 4chan vs. Capcom please...

In order to make /b/-tards happy, this game would have to recieve an "AO" rating due to the sort of stuff you can find on that  site...

AHAHAHAHAHA

4CHAN VS CAPCOM LOL

I'm both terribly sad and yet enlighteningly enamoured at the fact someone on this site came up with that.

It is a internet image message board known for its large impact on internet culture (for both better and worse). They literally will post a picture of anything there, ranging from average pictures, pornography to some of the weirdest things ever that can't really be described. Basically, not the type of place to go if you have a weak stomach, detest the objectifying of women, or to let children see. Its not my cup of tea.

plz no street fighter vs anything square enix. We dont need ryu going all emo and wussy on us. Id say they should do the pocket fighter vs, but with more depth into the combos.

Capcom vs. DC

Capcom vs Nintendo

Street fighter vs Reploids

street fighter vs Resident evil

Capcom vs SNK 3

Capcom could easily make a lot more vs series with their own franchises. No need to ask permission all the time since it seems to be such a hassle nowadays. I would like to see another street fighter vs darkstalkers though.

I think a Sega vs. Capcom game would be superb. Perhaps even a Old gen Capcom vs. Next gen Capcom game would work very well.

But then again this is coming from a guy who thinks Arthur from Ghosts n Goblins should be in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
