I had to start off on the easy side with Bombman and Gutsmans stages but I hate those moving platforms in Gutsman's stage. |

I figure since I'm going to do it buster-only I'd go in the most crazy order I could think of. Ice Man followed by Cut Man was the result. |

Hmm, I like that idea about playing the Powered Up version on PSP along with playing Mega Man 1 on the anniversary collection. I think I will try that as well, seems like it will be fun to compare the two back to back. |

LOL, you can tell the people who've played this game 1000 times already. My first thought was, I think I'll try buster only this time through, then I read all the other posts. I liked Powered Up in that you had to beat the master with the buster only to get their character (or was it you just couldn't use their weakness weapon?). I think I'll be going NES for this go round though, nothing beats old school (okay, maybe powered up did, but nothing ELSE does). |

Just an observation: Anyone notice that the Powered Up Old School version of Fire Man is more difficult than the NES version?

Powered Up Old Style Fire man is impossible to perfect without the magnet beam.
NES Fireman only shoots one or two in a patteren, MMPUOS Fire Man is much more random and the fire doesn't go away after a full jump over.
So yes, he's much harder. |

This is a great idea. I'm going to download this on the Wii, I've never played any of the traditional Mega Man games. I've only played Mega Man Legends (one of my all time favorites) I have been wanting to go back old school for a while, ever since I started watching Game Center CX! Hopefully, all will go well and I am up for the challenge!
UPDATE: I downloaded Mega Man from the virtual console and I can proundly say that it was worth the 500 points. My thumbs hurt again after only an hour session! the gameplay is much more difficult than current games, but there is a great sense of accomplishment one I beat my first boss. once again great idea, as I am exploring an old school classic that I missed when I was young. |

Just took care of Cut Man pretty quickly. I think I'll get rid of Fire Man next. |
