Well, since I started out with the RE remake, I didn't really finish the game until about 2 or 3 years after the title came out on the GC. The uncompletion of the title was mostly due to me being extremely nervous whenever I played it...the atmosphere was just that creepy.
When I finally finished the damn game, I was wondering how it would be like to play the original. So one of my friends who happens to be a real RE buff, decided to let me play the OG directors cut...hoh boy...was it a bit boring. It seemed as though they added A LOT in the remake, for the OG was a bit quick, oh, and did I mention that I was laughing my ass off whenever anyone spoke extremely cheesy dialogue?

We're taking things step-by-step so that everyone can get a chance to play along and jump in on the discussion. It's also nice to break a game like RE down into chunks like this as we're aware that most people aren't able to dedicate the sheer time it takes to blow through the game in a night or two. |

When I get the time, I'll post some of documents pertaining to how far into the game we are and so forth for viewing pleasure or for others to possibly discuss about.

well, at the moment, I am at the cabin. Even though things started slow, Once I obtained certain key items, things really blew by fast.

The creepiest and most feared hallway for me when I first played the remake was definitely 'macabre hall' the one with the smashed picture frame and the same hall you unlock the door to help out Richard. That theme playing in the dark when I was first playing always made me paranoid that a crimson head was going to come hell bent around the corner and I even had a zombie break through the door where Richard used to be at one time and that really was unexpected...I mean really unexpected!!!

I think the creepiest part so far are crazy red head zombies (I forgot their official/fan name) that chase you around if you don't burn a zombie the first time or get a head shot. It really makes you nervous when you enter an area you "cleared out" previously to only have to wonder if a zombie will pop back up at run after you like a rabid dog! Also I love the fixed camera angles since they do add more of a sense of suspense since you cant see what is behind every corner or lurking in the shadows. I'm actually about to deal with Neptune in my current game. |
