Its been about 4 years since we had a good cross over game. What is takeing so long to come out with another game like mvc2. Hell why not throw in DC. What are they thinking DC vs Mortal Kombat it does not even make sene. That game is not going to be fun at all. Capcom does not even need to make the game 3d they can leave a 2d game and it would still be a great game.

1) Capcom no longer owns the Marvel license, thus they can no longer make or release Marvel games.
2) It was stated long ago that MvC2 was the last entry in that series, so even if Cacpom got the Marvel license back they wouldn't do a MvC3, but rather a spiritual successor, ie it wouldn't be called MvC3, it have a different title.
3) In an interview with the Street Fighter IV producer, it was stated that Capcom is done with 2D fighting games, and that future fighting games (if made) will be done using the SFIV engine.
4) DC is out of the question now as Midway currently owns the DC license.

PSM magazine said there was going to be a MVC3 and a DBZVC, but maybe it was an April issue. Anyway, yes, Marvel Vs DC would rock, but since that will never happen, how about Marvel Super Heroes 2 or even better..... Capcom Fighting Evolution 2 featuring the Marvel Vs Capcom engine with crazy moves and TONS of characters!

That's kind of a bummer... I'm going to cling on to hope and never say never, since you never know what trends or awesome game designs are around the corner. I'm not one to ask for more Marvel games, though. I accept that they had their time and that time has passed. I'd rather appreciate them by continuing to play them on the platforms I have. In the meantime, fighting games that have 2D gameplay with 3D graphics are still pretty cool... I really like the ones that have been coming out that use toon shading to make them appear 2D and also move as fast (like Battle Fantasia). SF4 appears a bit sluggish to me.

Isn't the Marvel license up for grabs after the fallout with EA? Even if they did get it I think they should use what they're doing with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom with some new tweaks instead of SF4.

Even if it is, it's gotta be wicked expensive at this point. With all the success of Marvel's movies in the past several years, their characters are way more popular. Plus, I'm sure that with this new popularity, Marvel would probably want more input on the characters if they were put into a game, which might mess things up.

Licensing issues. Even if Marvel wants it, the contract of games is still being held by other companies.
Anyway, I'd rather have NEW crossovers for a change. I'd rather have Capcom do more with Tatsunoko before doing another crossover.

Thanks to Mr. Kevin Feige, the cat is (somewhat) out of the bag: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/893/893929p1.html It's going to happen, just not announced yet. Mr. Capcom Admin, we beseech thee: confirm this game and give your fans 200 years of happiness!
