Well about a month ago sven said that HD remix games are very expensive.  It's still a debate with capcom whether final fight HD would be profitable compared to the cost of making it.  However, sven said we will try do something for the final fight fans.


Also in wikipedia it states cody is in supe street fighter 4.  That explains the rumor going around that cody is in SSF4.  However, it's still not official.

I'd rather have a "rearmed" type than an HD redo of Final Fight... just with hopefully good character models. More story, etc. Maybe 3-4 player co-op.

At this point if making a FF HD remix is expensive and almost as expensive as a new game, better aiming to a complete new game.


Been realy a while since we have seen a good real scrolling beat em up.


I would keep the original charachters, adding some more, maybe using the same SF4 graphic style, lot more moves and specials...and add a bunch of different play modes ...with obviously on line gaming.


Come on I think it would turn out to be an amazing game!

Capcom says it's expensive to make HD remix games but really how many have they made other than SF2?


UDON said they learned from their experience and can now avoid all the pitfalls that made making SF2HD hard to do. 


I would think that the next attempt on making an HD game will be better organized from their experience.

I was going to say that Final Fight would be easier because it has less animation to redo, but I don't think that's true at all.  Final Fight has far more stages, Items, and a ton of animations for characters, enemies and bosses to redraw.


I could see that being a bit of an issue.

Yeah that could be pretty expensive.  Thinking back capcom actually tried to save money by outsourcing to UDON.  But even that did not keep the cost down.


If the issue is cost then what about a fighting game with only final fight characters?  The fighting game category is one of the cheapest video games to make.


Yeah I know they made final fight revenge but I think they rushed it.


Every capcom fighting game has their own style of gameplay.  As you know the way final fighters fight is with weapons.


Make it 2D and a random weapon falls once a while.  It would be like cody's knife in alpha.  You could pick up the weapon or not.  Each time you get hit once you end up dropping the weapon.


This can work I just know it.

I found this video on Nico video. a guy put together a quasi-motion comic of a Final Fight Guy manga that I assume came out around the same time as FF Guy on the SNES.

I will try to subtitle it next week if I get some time.  The general gist is that Guy is looking for Haggar and when he does Haggar tells Guy that Jessica has been kidnapped.

do it, just make something, somehow revive this or show a little respect to us fans, if you have to, sneak it into a street fighter game, afterall final fight was originally marketted as the sequal to street fighter (fighting street), and the characters appear in street fighter alpha and retain theoir normal final fight story,thus confirming that final fight and street fighter are in fact in the same universe

well final fight fans it appears the bonus stage for super street fighter 4 looks exactly as the bonus stage in final fight 1 where the car is smashed.


Nothings official but if it's true than we might just see someone from metro city.

Capcom must realize that adding Final Fight characters to Super Street Fighter IV sets it up so that new and old SF fans alike support a new Final Fight game



That said, I hope the new FF is set up by SSFIV, that'd be cool/interesting. Anything would do though, as long as they bring it back!


FF deserves another chance!
