To be honest, I'm not the die hard RPG fantatic I once was. The genre just got too stale. Lately they have breathing new life into the genre and i'm looking forward what else Squarenix's Team Ivalice and Tri-Ace, NamcoT, Camelot, NIS and the rest of em' have in store for us this comming year. Dragon Quarter was pretty good game. You just have to get past your initial reaction and understand what Capcom tried to do. I really hope this rumor comes to be true, but I gotta say as long as I get a quality BOF game I'll be happy.

This thread needs to be made into a sticky like the Final Fight thread. AND we need a Breath of Fire 6. Why don't Capcom come out with another one? If they don't think it's gunna sell well, then come out with a downgraded version for the Wii, like they did with Megaman 9. So us "few" hard core fans can have another to play. |

Another thing, it's nice that Camelot is helping make the new BOF but it would have been nice if they could buy back the Shining Force series from Atlus and SAVE the series from those butchers. Atlus SUCKS! The only games they got going for them are Persona and Orge battle. I absolutely resent the fact that they own the series now and have been turning one of my favorite RPGs into a pile of crap! |

You know, I posted a pretty lengthy blog about Breath of Fire on my Capcom-Unity blog, AND on this MB, but no one has said a thing. I've even posted it in a few different places, including dragon-tear.net. It's really sad how indifferent BoF fans are; I mean, hell, I wrote a 19 page paper on the series, and I absolutely despised three of them. Surely, the true fans of the series can do better? |

I agree it dissapoints me that we have 11 members in the BOF group and nobody contributes, I went to Dragon-tear also( I used to be a regular there) and asked for there support, but no luck. I would like to keep this thread alive but as things look idk, If we were more persistent it could help BOF return....

breath of fire is my favorite jrpg series. obviously dragon quarter was a departure, but i enjoyed it. i grew up absolutely obsessed with BoF and BoF2. BoF3 was a major boost because it was a classic and altogether perfect for its time. BoF4 had the silkiest, most enjoyable animated sprites in the series. it was pretty much like Street Fighter 3 in terms of fluidity and frames. i didnt like the overworld map (which resembles Final Fantasy Tactics a lot), but thats my only complaint. it was alright but i like walking from place to place in a more traditional way. i imported BoF4 when it came out in 2000. it was my very first import (and a learning experience getting my PS1 to play it) and i played through it with over 150 hours. : / then after the stateside release, i played it even more. anyway, my point is, I LOVE BoF like almost no other game series, so i certainly hope another one is on the way. i always knew they would make another BoF sometime, but the question for me has always been when. i would trust camelot to develop a new BoF, but i would rather see Capcom investing their own art department and developer talent to create BoF6. im not totally sure about what id like to see for the gameplay style, but i admit a totally tradtional turn-based rpg (as much as i DO love them) would be just a bit overdone by this point. so maybe they can integrate a turn-based variant of rpg gameplay, like with grandia since that was mentioned. or they could do something different, more action-oriented. they definitely need to bring back the old clans from the previous BoF games though, that's a must and also have more than 3 character like DQ had. : /

I have a strong opinion regarding the~ Breath of Fire~ Dear Capcom, I have supported your company since Capcom has consistently brought I feel ecstatic to hear the ~Breath of Fire~ series will Now, the newest BOF title has a gigantic reputation to As the sixth installment, where do we start? I’d like to ~Breath of Fire~ Great foundation: Great roster: This game is one heck of a start for this ~Breath of Fire II~ Amazing follow-up story. Untied ends which hints at a sequel ~Breath of Fire III~ Man, where to start. Examine, enemy skills, masters, ~Breath of Fire IV~ Roster was amazing as character uniqueness and cameos gave ~Breath of Fire V~ Music was great and built lots of atmosphere. Art style was Now finally, ~ BOFVI~ This series is amazing; it has an enormously rich background -Unique roster with at least 8 diverse characters -Amazing Music -Better Graphics to appeal to the current generation of -Art Style should continue to evolve, enough to be different -Abilities broaden and become more accessible. -Fishing and hunting keep their excitement and addictive -Grand story which questions morals and encompasses many -Length that rivals BOFIII & BOF IV: 50+ Hour RPG -Dynamic/diverse battlefields -Animation eye-candy for cinemas and opening/ending scene -Dragons that look and intimidate like actual dragons. Not -A dynamic world map worth exploring just like Breath of - A system which doesn’t limit/sacrifice Dragon experience -Although I do appreciate a challenging RPG, the likes of -Bonus Dungeon and replay value with options like new Game + -Cameos -Deep Storyline ties to every BOF game. Filling holes in If these things are implemented into BOFVI I promise Capcom Finally, I’ve addressed what needs to be done. Now, I would -Unique roster with at least 8 diverse characters. (Dragon, -Amazing Music, easy, hire the guy who composed BOFIII. -Graphics need to be High Definition 2D sprites or 3D models -Art Style should continue to evolve, enough to be different -Abilities broaden and become more accessible. Like Dragon -Fishing and hunting keep their excitement and addictive -Grand story which questions morals and encompasses many -Length that rivals BOFIII & BOF IV: 50+ Hour RPG -Dynamic/diverse battlefield- Wheather alternations for -Animation eye-candy for cinemas and opening/ending scene, -Dragons that look and intimidate like actual dragons. Not -A dynamic world map worth exploring just like Breath of - A system which doesn’t limit/sacrifice Dragon experience -Although I do appreciate a challenging RPG, the likes of -Mega bonus dungeon. Just do it Capcom. If you have -Cameos, - See next suggestion- -Deep Storyline ties to every BOF game. Filling holes in P.S.- I have one more suggestion. Marketing: to continue the Sincerely, Kyle~ |
