Woops, I meant to say BoF 4 never resolved. I was satisfied with the rest of the games endings. |

Well it IS possible, BUT. It's only on select Japanese phones and it's only in Japanese text. So it's like being illiterate all over again.
I was extremely pleased with V's ending. There was some resolution but I still had many many questions that really didn't matter. What mattered was already answered. Yeah, III & V definately had the best endings. |

I didn't play BoFV much, but in most traditional JRPGs the main protagonist is silent. One reason they do this is to allow a more personal connection with the story via the main character. It allows players to easily slip into the shoes of the main character.

This is an element of literature that's virtually... outdated. I haven't played an RPG where the protagenist verbally disassociates hiimself since BOF. Well, Chrono Trigger did this too. I wonder if they will impliment this technique into the newest installment of the BOF series. It does successfully remove focus from Ryu and place the conflict/resolution on the main plot and experience.

I just realized there's a BOF thread, awesome. Yeah, we need a bof6. I would love to see the dragon gene splicing from BOF3 comeback, with bright cell shaded visuals(see:eternal sonata) and something similar to BOF5's awesome battle system. Oh yeah and Were-tiger, lots of Were-tiger. Also, to answer those burning questions: the idea of the silent protagonist is to allow the player to roleplay said character and create their own dialogue, much like your own character in a D20 game(or other various table-top rpgs) |

I hope a new BOF will adopt a more modern look and ditch the kid look. |

I honestly hope the Camelot rumor actually solidifies as I believe this could be the best solution for the series in order to recreate public interest. I've been really impressed with Capcom's business strategy's lately and I could definitely put them up there with Nintendo in terms of quality and integrity and with this whole rumor floating about it could very well be Capcom's finest period in the video game industry. Camelot are more than capable of designing an jRPG of high caliber so here's hoping it's true. Maybe we'll see at this year's TGS.
