Check out Capcom USA’s brand new offices in San Francisco

Feb 11, 2016 // Kellen Haney

It’s been quite the couple of weeks for the Capcom USA crew. For the last several years, our offices were based out of San Mateo, California. But on January 25 th , we moved 25 miles up to San Francisco – the same year as the 25 th anniversary of Street Fighter II. Coincidence? Yes. Yes it is. But we’re all enjoying our new offices by the Bay, and we wanted to give you a quick tour (in pictures) of our new home.

First thing you’ll see when you come in is the Capcom sign over the reception desk, as well as an assortment of statues from our franchises over the years. Is it just me, or is Dante taller than Mech-Zangief? Maybe Gief just needs to stand up straight.

Off to the right is the Resident Evil conference room, complete with statues of all your favorite enemies – including, of course, the hulking Nemesis, complete with rocket launcher, and ol’ shoulder-eye himself, William Birkin.

In fact, all of our meeting rooms are named after our franchises, including Street Fighter, Mega Man, Okami, and more!

Blanka?! What are you doing here- oh, it’s Ono-san’s office. Everyone has a Capcom character on their name plate. Ono-san’s likely isn’t that surprising, but try to guess  who mine is!

Let’s not forget the Stadium, where we have our company-wide meetings and where many of us eat lunch from time to time. Long-time followers might have already seen our life-sized statue of the Blue Bomber, who likes to chill by the window and watch passersby.

He also likes to play ping pong every now and again!

So does Bert, but… well, we just like to let Bert be. He has… distinctive tastes.

Of course, when we’re looking for a real challenge, we have a couple of arcade machines conveniently set up in the stadium, in case we need some salt to go with our meal. I know, I know, the marquees don’t match up with the game, just like that pizza place you used to go to in the 90’s, but we’re planning to swap out the arcade boards periodically to keep things fresh. I gotta admit, I was never that good at 3 rd Strike (flow chart Ken for life). Puzzle Fighter, on the other hand…

Anyways, we’re at the most important part of the building… my desk! Ammi seems pretty happy to be here, and I’m rather proud of my trophy. It’s a little sparse right now, but there’s plenty of time to cover it in swag.

And before I forget, we’re right across the street from the home of the San Francisco Giants, AT&T Park! You’re just going to have to trust me on this one – you have no idea how hard it is to get a good picture of that place at street level during the middle of the day.

That about covers it! They may not be in the pictures, but our offices are full of amazing people that work hard every day to bring you the very best games in the industry! Interested in joining the Capcom USA crew? Head over to our jobs page for all the latest job listings!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go sneak off for a couple rounds of Puzzle Fighter against Burt.
