I still remember the first time I ever played Mega Man. Sitting cross-legged on the carpet in my parent's den, I marveled at this game that allowed me to play it however I wanted. Should I beat Cut Man first? Or might he be easier if I took out Fire Man? Of course, the most dreaded and powerful enemy was always the instant-death spikes. I hated those spikes so much.
Mega Man has gone through many changes through the years. From the X series to 3D adventures with the Legends series, Capcom has tried to reinvent Mega Man for each generation of gamers. Through different game styles, different storylines and different characters, we've transformed our little blue hero into a pop culture icon that older gamers know and love.
While Mega Man has always been targeted at younger gamers (or those that are young at heart, like me), we've never lost sight of our original fans. You fans are the core of the Mega Man universe and we make games like Mega Man 9 directly for you.
Now, we're happy to announce the latest update to the Mega Man Site to include all the information you'd want to know about Mega Man Starforce 3. Working on the title gives me the ability to test it out on my nephews (best uncle ever!) and I love the looks on their faces any time they unlock a new power for Mega Man to use. By integrating the popular card battle system similar to the Battle Network series, we’re looking to continue the story of Geo and his friends in order to give the kids today that same fascination I once had playing on the NES.
Mega Man Starforce 3 is set to launch June 30th for the Nintendo DS. It's going to come in two flavors, Black Ace and Red Joker, each with their own unique powers. It's time for Mega Man to save the world again. Are you (or your kids/nephews/cousins) up to the challenge?
