    Gamespot Loves Neopets Puzzle Adventure

    Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 06:28 PM [General]

Video game critics are a cynical bunch.  Traditionally, there are two types of games that the critics universally hate: "Licensed Games" and "Kid's Games."  So you can just imagine the initial reaction when we announced a "Licensed Kid's Game" in the form of Neopets Puzzle Adventure.  Any derisive quote from Comic Book Guy would basically fit the bill.

However, then we revealed the ace up our sleeves.  The game we were making was done by Infinite Interactive, the creators of Puzzle Quest.  Suddenly, they got interested and wanted to preview the title.  A couple weeks ago, we delivered the latest DS build along with some delicious Burger King Kid's Meals (Neopets version) and chocolate milk.

Apparently, the fast food bribe worked and the media reaction has been great.  Gamespot posted their preview today and to quote: "Neopets Puzzle Adventure is a tough game to put down once you get into it."

Click here to read the puzzlicious preview!

See all you haters out there?  Never doubt Capcom, especially when we bring you chocolate milk.  :)

Flattery, thy name is Left 4 Dead

    Thursday, October 30, 2008, 08:36 PM [General]

As all you Capcom fans know, we here at the zombie-proof Capcom fortress are the leaders in all things undead videogame related.  We're always happy when our competitors look at what we do and try do do something new and different.  That's what keeps us on our toes.  We're even happier when they acknowledge us, as Left 4 Dead has done with their achievements.

We had endless fun planning the achievements for Dead Rising on the 360 and, if feedback is any indication, you guys seemed to love them too.  One of the hardest to get was the Zombie Genocide achievement, that required you to kill the entire population of Willamette: 53,594 shambling brain eaters.

So, in a game of one upmanship, Left 4 Dead has the following achievement:

So, horrible english aside,  the gauntlet has been thrown.   Where will it end?

Okami Wii special covers - Final Update!

    Friday, August 22, 2008, 07:34 PM [General]

Well, it's been a long slog, but we're there.  Any day now, those of you who properly filled out the form should be getting your new covers in the mail.  The printer is in the process of sending out nearly 18,000 of them via bulk mail, but rest assured they're on their way!  Here's a quick FAQ of questions I'm asking myself, since none of you can talk to me a the moment.

    1.  Did I just say covers?  Yup.  Since fulfillment took so long, everybody is getting two new coversheets.  Each cover sheet features the cleaned cover art on one side, and the two different new designs on the other.  That's right, everyone is getting all three covers for the price of... well, none!

    2. Did Capcom send out confirmation emails?  Nope.  Part of the problem with the lists was technical and we were unable to send out confirmation emails.   As long as you completely filled out the form, and live in the US or Canada, you're getting the covers.  One mailing per household, so those of you who signed up multiple times are only getting one set.

    3. What took so long?  In a word, Ninjas.  The rumors are true, every Japanese company has its own cadre of elite ninja assassins.  Unfortunately, Capcom has recently thrown in with their mortal enemies, the Pirates, in the form of Age of Booty.  Ever since we announced that title, the ninjas have been nothing but trouble.  The number of death traps around the office has skyrocketed.

    4. Can I still get the covers?  Yes, you can!  But you'll have to use your color printer or find a Kinko's that will charge you about 50 cents.  Hi Res versions of the new covers can still be found here: http://www.capcom.com/artredemption/

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

We Love Golf Special Costume Post #4

    Friday, July 25, 2008, 01:32 AM [General]

Next up on the We Love Golf Capcom costume runway are the two new characters added specifically for the US and Europe release.  Not only that, but their costumes were voted on by members of the Capcom community!  With over 20,000 votes cast, the results gave us two classic Capcom costumes from two different fighting games.

Stephanie is out for blood when she dresses up as Morrigan from Darkstalkers.  To unlock this tight outfit, jump online and beat a random opponent not from your friend codes.  Reach out and birdie someone.

Mark's looking forward to Street Fighter 4 so much that he just had to dress like Ken.  Easily my favorite outfit in the game, its fairly easy to unlock.  Just beat one of your friends once you exchange friend codes with each other.

So get online and play some golf!

We Love Golf Special Costume Post #3

    Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 05:57 PM [General]

Let the cavalcade of Capcom character costumes continue!

When not going to school, she's kicking butt!  Meg's special costume is Sakura.  To unlock, you have to be perfect with every shot on the Round Lesson.  Great way to encourage you to practice, right?

Looking better than your average Belgian kickboxer, Brian likes to sport the awesome outfit and hairdo of Guile.  This outfit might be the toughest to unlock, so only the dedicated need apply.  To unlock this costume, you need to beat all the Mirror Tournaments.  Although, the Mirror Tournaments don't unlock until you beat the Pro Tournaments... and the Pro Tournaments don't unlock until you beat the Regular Tournaments.

    Better get playing!
