Capcom Pro Tour Announces First Set of Ranking Tournaments

We are excited to announce our first set of Ranking Tournaments for the Capcom Pro Tour.  16 spots are up for grabs at this year’s Capcom Cup, and 6 of those spots will be determined using our ranking system.  Each of these tournaments will receive Tier #2 ranking points . The Capcom Pro Tour website will be updated this Friday with the ranking system in place, so you can track everyone’s progress. 

 

There will be more announcements to come in the following weeks about additional Ranking Tournaments, as well as new details on our Online Tournament system, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, make sure these killer events are on your radar, and make sure to tune in and support!

 

Café ID Global Tournament (March 29-30, Jeju Island, South Korea)

Bringing the best players from throughout the world, this event will see some of the best SSFIV:AE ver 2012 players from Japan, Korea, US and China all go at it for a chance to win Café ID’s inaugural global tournament. Watch all the action unfold on Cafe ID’s twitch channels .

 

Hypespotting (March 29-30, Glasgow, United Kingdom)

The largest tournament thrown in all of the UK for the past three year, Hypespotting is breaking records this year with the number of participants in SSFIV:AE ver. 2012. You can look forward to not only the best talent in UK showing up for a chance at victory, but other strong competitors from the neighboring European countries.  See who takes it this weekend by tuning into the Versus Scotland Twitch stream .

 

Texas Showdown (April 4-6, Houston, Texas)

The longest running tournament in Texas and one of the longest running tournaments in United States, Texas Showdown is sure to be nothing but hype. Many a top players have been upset by the sleeping giants who reside in Texas and its neighboring states. Will the same thing happen this time around in SSFIV:AE ver. 2012 this time around? You can see if history will repeat itself on Level-Up’s twitch channel .

 

Civil War (April 11-13, Richmond, Virginia)

Civil War may have started off as a small tournament a few years ago, but that’s definitely not the case this time around. Civil War has become one of the staples in the grassroots tournament scene and a destination where the best players in not only the Eastern US, but all of the US battle it out for the ultimate prize of fame, fortune and Civil War era replica swords! See who will get to wield the power of the mighty Civil War sword and receive those oh so sweet Capcom Pro Tour points on Team Sp00ky’s twitch channel
