Wizard ;) Alright everyone, here's a piece I've been waiting to write for a while now, hope you enjoy it.
We stepped into the building, first me, then Veronica, and lastly Jason. We cautiously walked down the hallway, our shoes making a bit of a thudding sound on the wood floor. Again, my eyes went in every direction, searching for anything that may signal danger. I didn’t see anything, but yet I knew there was something. There was something in there…waiting. It knew we were there, and was merely waiting for the right time to strike. “Which door is it?” Jason asked, finally breaking the silence. “That one up there.” Veronica replied as she motioned to a brown wood door a little under 30-feet away from us. My eyes darted around again, first to my left, then right, but stopped there as they fell upon bloodstains on the wall. I came to a halt, my eyes fixed on the stains for a moment. I then looked to the ceiling, then the floor, and there I saw a small pool of blood appearing to be fairly fresh. “What is it?” Dudley asked from behind me. “What’s going on?” Veronica asked with a hint of fright in her tone as I glance over my shoulders. I turned to the bloodstained wall again, and stared at it just for a moment, and then looked ahead of me. “Oh God.” Veronica muttered in dread. I assumed she had turned to see what I was looking at, and was quite displeased by what she saw. “Something’s in here.” I stated matter-of-factly. “Stay on your guard.” I said to my companions, but never turned my gaze away from what lay before me. As we continued down the corridor toward Veronica’s apartment we were brought to a stop yet again. However, this time it wasn’t by what we saw, but by what we heard. It was the same kind of sound we heard in the police station just before we caught sight of the Lickers. Simultaneously, the three of us slowly turned our upper bodies around to look behind us. “They just keep on coming today, don’t they?” Jason said, seeming more angry and annoyed than frightened as he looked at the Licker that was staring us down with its eyeless gaze. As I stared at the beast the very same sound caught my ear, and I turned around just in time to see yet another one walking on the farthest wall. “That they do.” I replied with a similar tone. The beast in front of me flailed it whip-like tongue around for a few seconds, as if to intimidate me. I then stuck my own tongue out at the creature, showing my irritation for its very existence. It was in that same moment that yet another Licker came onto the scene, and like the first one it was crawling on the floor. “Ah, now that’s not even fair.” I said to the beasts, and then I heard rapid gunfire. I looked behind me to see that the first monster was getting a little too close for comfort, and Jason wasn’t about to let it get any closer. “Veronica! The door!” Jason yelled as he fired a few rounds into the Licker. Veronica and I raced down the hall toward her apartment door, fully aware of the fact that we were nearing 2 more of those beasts. As we ran down the corridor the Licker on the wall unleashed it tongue in an attempt to strike my head. I narrowly dodge the attack, and continued onward. I could still hear Jason firing, which was a good sign; it meant he was still alive. “Down!!” I screamed as the 3rd monster jumped at Veronica and I. I grabbed Veronica, and took her to the floor with me, front first. The Hell spawned creature flew right over us, and I quickly rose up, turned around, and fired into its back three times. “The door!” I shouted to Veronica. Just a few seconds after I yelled to Veronica I heard her fire the Magnum, probably at the Licker on the wall. We were fortunate in a way, yet very unfortunate at the same time. The Lickers didn’t have as much room to move around, so their speed and agility, and incredible leaping capabilities wouldn’t do them a whole lot of good. As the area was much smaller than the other places we’d fought those creatures they would be much easier to kill. However, since the area was smaller than the other rooms we had fought them we, too, would be easier to kill, as we had less space to dodge those tongues of theirs. “It’s open!!” Veronica shouted from the doorway. My eyes shot over to Veronica, and I saw that she had opened the door. “Jason!!” I called out, and motioned to the open door. The man wasted no time in racing toward the door, and getting out of harms way. I, however, stayed to get in a few more shots on the beast Jason had fired at, and the one that jumped at Veronica & I before heading for the apartment. As I ran toward the open door I fired at the Licker that was still planted on the wall. I soared right by the door and Jason, who was ready to slam it shut the instant I was in. However, as he attempted to close it one of the creatures jumped at the door, pushing him back a ways. “Ben! I little help!” Jason exclaimed as he struggled to keep the door from being shoved all the way open. One of the Lickers had foolishly put its head in the way of the door, as well as one of its clawed hands. I quickly aimed at the beast’s head, and shot twice to get it to back out, but it only screamed a bit. I walked over to the door, quite angry I might add, and thrust kicked the monster right in the head. Finally, the door was closed, and Jason speedily twisted the deadbolt, then put the chain lock on, and lastly twisted the handle lock. It struck me as a bit strange when he turned the final lock, as it wouldn’t do any good, seeing as how those things weren’t even smart enough to turn the door handle. The beasts clawed at the door, and rammed into it for a few moments while Jason and I just aimed our gun at the door from a distance as a precaution. “Will it hold?” Jason asked as he turned to me for a short moment. It seemed no matter where he and I went he was always wondering if the one thing that was keeping those vile creatures out would hold—first at the school, then the sewers, and lastly at Veronica’s apartment. “It should.” I replied calmly. “Should?” It was quite clear by the tone of Jason’s voice that my answer wasn’t what he wanted to hear. “Yep. It should.” I repeated as I holstered my gun. The monsters had given up it seemed, as we no longer heard them trying to get in. Jason & I turned around to see Veronica standing there, the Magnum gripped in her right hand as usual. “He’s not here. But, the door was unlocked, which means he probably was.” Veronica stated. “Okay.” Said Jason. “So now what?” He asked as he turned his head to me. That’s a fantastic question. Too bad I don’t have the answer. I thought as I kept my eyes on Veronica. “The only other place he would look for me would be the school. I’m a substitute teacher.” Said Veronica. “I thought you looked familiar. You substituted for Ms. Clayton a few weeks back, right?” Jason asked, seeming much calmer. “That’s right.” Veronica answered with a small smile. So, we’re right back where we started, are we? I thought to myself, and then headed for the door. “Whoa!” Jason called out. “What are you doing?” He asked as I reached to unlock the deadbolt. “It’s the only way out, and we need to get to the school.” I replied as I turned around to face my companions. “Screw that!” Jason shouted. “I’d rather take my chances out the window rather than face those things again.” “From five stories up? You’d break your legs, and then whatever’s out there would eat you alive.” “We can’t take three of those things! We’ll get killed!” Jason yelled, quite obviously upset. “No, we can’t take three of them.” I admitted. “But we might be able to outrun them.” “Outrun them.” Jason repeated with a chuckle in his voice, clearly in disbelief. “Jason, the fact of the matter is: we don’t have any other choice.” I wasn’t too thrilled about having to go out into the hall again, but the way I saw it was simple—it was better than waiting for them to break the door down and kill us all. ~Wesker~ |

Thank you, everyone for your compliments :) Here's more with Ben and the group:
A silence swept over the apartment. I could tell by the looks on their faces that neither one of them were too confident in my plan. To be honest, I wasn’t too sure about it myself. I could only hope that those things weren’t outside waiting for us to come back out. “Check your ammo.” I said to my two comrades. I quickly released my current magazine, and checked to see how many bullets remained within it. Three rounds. I thought to myself. I reloaded the magazine as fast as I could, and then holstered my handgun and got to work on the shotgun. As I started to load up my shotgun I could hear Veronica loading up the Magnum. Heavenly Father, I pray that You will not let any harm come to my companions, and if I should have to die so that they may live I am willing to make that sacrifice. I prayed silently, and then nodded a single time as I ended my prayer, Amen. Once we had all finished loading up our weapons I started toward the door. I first undid the deadbolt, then the handle lock, but before I took the chain off I took a look out peephole. Nothing there. I thought to myself. “Get ready.” I said to Jason & Veronica, and then removed the chain lock. I slowly twisted the doorknob, and opened it just enough for me to peek out. I turned to my left, then my right, and then I looked to the ceiling—the Lickers were gone, or at least it seemed that way. I stepped back just a bit, and then swung the door open. I swiftly drew my Beretta, and started out into the hall with the other two close by. We wasted no time and immediately started for the window with Jason in the lead followed by Veronica, and lastly myself. I could feel it in my gut that those devilish beasts weren’t gone, but were waiting for us just around the corner. When we were about a third of the way to the window I turned around and walked backward for a short time to make sure nothing was behind us, and it was then that those monsters showed themselves once more. “Move! Move! Move!” I shouted as I watched the Lickers start to leap from wall to wall, quickly coming toward us. They certainly were determined creatures, I had to give them that. Even though we filled them full of holes earlier they still came at us to fight a second round. I fired at the Lickers, quickly using up most of my magazine as I speedily walked backward toward the shattered window. I could hear the hurried footsteps of my companions behind me becoming somewhat faint as they got farther away from me, and closer to the fire escape. “Benjamin!” I heard Jason call for me. “Come on, let’s go!” He shouted. I blasted one of the monsters in the head, and it fell dead on the floor. I shot twice at one that was quickly crawling toward me on the wall, and it, too fell to the floor as it died. However, the third and final Hell spawned creature caught me at a point when it was practically impossible for me to defend myself. The beast lunged straight at me, and it seemed as though the world had gone into slow motion. Terror filled me as I fearfully gazed upon the minion of Death that sought to take my life, and place it between its horrifying fangs so that it may devour it. ~Wesker~ |

So sorry everyone for my uncanny slowness :( I've been performing in a play most every day at a local theatre, and haven't had much time to write. However, I'll try to have an update within 24-hours :)
