European Tournement now open to more of Europe

    Monday, April 27, 2009, 10:38 AM [General]

Having heard about the European street fighter 4 tournament I couldn't wait to join up. When I went to join I found out if was only available to 5 countries(UK,Germany,France,Spain and Italy)

I was really disappointed so myself and unity member ShaneMarks went to Capcom Europe forums to make some complaints about the exclusion of so many countries.

We got an unexpectedly fast answer from the forum admin there with very promising news.

We do understand the disappointment, let's clarify a few issues:

    * we only have offices/strong appointed distributors who can support with the organisation of such an event in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, hence the geographical limitations. We've been discussing options and we will now open the tournament to the following countries:

    • Ireland - competing with the UK for the UK national finals
    • Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia - competing with Germany for the German finals
    • Benelux - competing with France for the French finals
    • Portugal - competing with Spain for the Spanish finals

    * As for having one platform, I'm sure that you will appreciate that this kind of events requires significant budget and resources and we aren't in a position to support a parallel event.

I will now work on the registration page to allow gamers from the countries listed above to enter the tournament. Please bear with me.

So good news to any euopean unity members who live in any of the above countries, you can now enter too. Time to go get some practice in :D

The website will be updating soon to allow the newly added countries to join.

    Street FIghter 4 Hands On

    Monday, November 24, 2008, 03:45 PM [General]

This is a bit dated now, not hey SF4 isnt out yet. I was over in Germany at the Leipzig GC 2008. I went there with a crew of Irish up and coming games journilists and myself (because I wanted to play some games :D) Everyone on the team had the games they were most looking forward to, mostly left 4 dead but mine was SF4. This was the first public go of SF4 on the 360 (or so they said) so I did a small bit on it.

It is a bit dated now but you can see German vs Irish Street Fighters, I know its what everyones been waiting for.

In my photos section there is an image gallery with all the pictures I took of the set up.

    Check it out here
