Jim handed his nail gun over to Kevin. Kevin placed his .45 back into the holster before making his way to the planks. Jim followed but stopped several feet from the planks, as Kevin started to gather them in his hand. Kevin stood up with some boards under his arm and took a look at the doorway.
Kevin: Now, we can board up this door way here as David said or... wait a minute.
David: Hmm?
Kevin: I have an idea. Jim, hold this.
Kevin turned around and quickly tossed the nail gun to Jim, before turning away himself to pick up the rest of the boards. Jim moved forward and tried to catch it as quickly as Kevin threw it, but it was futile. The nail gun just missed Jim's hand and hit the floor, shooting off one nail into the wall next to where Jim stopped. Kevin stopped collecting the boards for a moment in response to what just happened. He turned his head to look at Jim, but remained kneeling down next to the boards.
Kevin: Aw, Jim. You wasted a nail. Be more careful.
Jim: You throw a nail gun full of nails in my direction… and you tell ME to be careful?
Kevin: (sighs) Just pick it up.
Kevin turned his attention back to the boards, placed all five of them in his hands and cradled them on his waist. He stood up and turned to look at Jim and David.
Kevin: What I want to do, is block off the door in the wine room upstairs.
David: That works too. Go ahead.
Jim: Need me to hold some of those boards?
Kevin: Are you kiddin' me? Let's go.
Kevin walked down the hall and turned to open the door leading upstairs. Jim looked at David and shrugged before heading to where Kevin was. Kevin opened the door and went in, as Jim followed behind them. David finally pushed off the wall and silently followed them. Everyone was climbing upstairs when a noise was heard.
David: Hey? Did you hear that?
Kevin: Hear what?
David: Sounds like something broke. I think it's coming from the Bar. Go on ahead. I'm going to check it out.
Kevin: Don't take too long, man. I have to set up these boards on this door.
David: Right.
Jim entered the wine room first and Kevin followed with the boards. David hurried downstairs to confirm what he heard. He opened the door and cut left to the hall that once contained the boards Kevin took. David hurried down the hall and made his way to the top of the staircase leading down to the bar.
David: Didn't come this far to turn back now.
David moved quickly but cautiously down the stairs. He eventually reached the bottom and stood in front of the door leading to J's Bar. David wasn't going to open the door, but he did wait to see if the noise was what he suspected. He starred at the door for a moment… SLAM!
David: ****!
David knew it was more infected pounding on the door. He didn't wait around to see if they could bust through, so he hurried his way back to the others. He entered the wine room and looked around. The boards were sitting next to the door David entered.
Kevin: Bout time. Jim, give me a hand here.
Jim: Uh huh.
David shut the door behind him and walked to where Jim was grabbing boards and leaned on the wall. He didn't help Jim, but he did have something to tell both of them. Jim glanced at David before grabbing a board and taking it to the door leading back downstairs. He placed the board on the door and Kevin walked over to lock it into place with some nails. David followed their movements.
David: You should know, they broke into the Bar. That's what I heard.
Kevin: Yeah. I figured they would.
Jim: The zombies? ****, man. We need to hurry!
Kevin: Calm down and hold still. You're shaking the board.
Jim: All right! Watch my fingers, yo.
Kevin: I'm not blind, man.
Kevin locked the first board in place. Jim turned to grab another board from the wall and placed that one on the door. Kevin locked that one in as well.
David: I'm going on ahead.
Kevin: We can handle things here.
Jim: Not like he was helping or nothin'.
David glared at Jim, but pushed himself off the wall and walked further into the wine room. He didn't spot anything worth taking, so he just kept walking. David walked towards Mark and Bob who waited in the long hall leading to the forklift. He stopped to look at them. Bob was sitting down and Mark was kneeling down next to him.
Bob: I need to take a break. My legs feel a little numb.
Mark: It's all right. We'll just wait on the others to figure something out and follow them when they do.
Mark looked back at David and nodded at his existence. David also looked at Mark, but didn't say anything to him
Mark: Do you need anything?
David: No.
David took his attention away from Mark and walked further into the wine room He eventually reached to where George and Cindy were searching. George was investigating the shutter switch, as he noted it was broken. Cindy was looking behind a forklift. George took his attention from the shutter switch and looked in Cindy's direction.
George: Gather anything of use Cindy?
Cindy: No. But I… Ah!
George: What is it!
Cindy: It's blood… a lot of it!
George rushed down the small stairs and stood near Cindy. She backed up to give George room to see the blood spill. David walked up, but something caught his eye. Something was lying atop the forklift and it didn't look like it was supposed to be there.
David: What's that? Is that a…?
He said to himself. George kneeled down next to the blood spill.
George: This blood… it hasn't been here long.
Cindy: A survivor?
George: There's too much blood here to warrant another survivor. Maybe it was a survivor, but this is the end result. The blood appears to be leading up… above the forklift.
David: Hey! You guys might want to move!
Cindy: Huh?
George stood up and grabbed Cindy by the arm. He quickly escorted her to David and looked up at the top of the forklift. There was a corpse with no legs and blood seeping from his mouth. This was the survivor.
George: How did he get on the forklift?
David: I don’t know and I don't care. Odds are, he will become one of those things.
George: Agreed. What do we do?
David: We wait. He'll knock himself down if he turns.
Cindy: That poor man…
Just as expected, the corpse began to move. It's body slowly moving in a forward direction. The zombie knocked himself to the ground and landed in the pool of his own blood. It had one place to crawl, and that was in their direction.
David: Let me handle this.
David pulled out his survival knife and clenched it in his hands. He waited for the zombie to crawl in his direction. It came crawling out silently as it locked eyes with David who waited on its arrival. It's pace quickened a bit in hopes of attacking David. The crawling left a trail of blood behind it and David began to walk forward. Their paths collided and David slammed his foot on the back of its head. The zombie was facing down long enough for David to force his survival knife through its skull. He left the survival knife in its head for a while before pulling it out. He cleaned the blood from the knife on the back of the body's shirt and placed his knife back into his holster.
Part 8 hasn't been started yet, but with the coming of Christmas, I don't think I'll have a lot of time on my hands. I will still keep trying to work on it though. Also, you may be wondering where some characters went, but they entered the room that holds the forklift key. That'll be explained somewhat later on.

thanks and happy thanksgiving! :D
