Eguchi here!
Just like it says in the title, today is the day I announce the results of the New Heroine Design Contest!!
So without further adieu...
Once again, thank you all very much for voting! Mega Man fans from around the world had a voice in choosing the next Legends 3 heroine design and the final tally of votes are broken down like this: fans at the Japanese site put in a total of 18,030 votes and fans at the US/EU Dev-Room put in 5,133 votes!
I couldn't post these on the results page, but here are some comments I've received from the designers who participated in our competition.
Let me tell you, I was relieved to read these comments, and I glad to pass them on to you. Basically, this is what they had to say:
"At first I thought, 'What have these guys gotten me into?' ;-)
...But now that it is all over, I realize just much fun I had. What a great event!"
"It's not often that you can get such direct feedback from the users themselves. I was delighted and excited!"
"Reading the comments, I really felt that my vision was getting through to the people who looked at my work.
It was an educational experience for me to learn just how my designs were being perceived by the masses."
"Komaki-san, the rest of the team, it's all up to you now! :-)"
"More than anything, I just hope the fans had a good time."
"To everyone who voted, and to everyone who left comments, thank you so much!"
"I'll keep working hard, so please keep rooting for me!"
Thanks to the participation of these tremendous designers, I am thrilled to tell you that not only were we able to gather together Legends fans, but fans of other titles in the Mega Man franchise such as Star Force, EXE, Zero, X and the Original Mega Man.
I'd like to once again thank all of you Mega Man fans and ask you for your continued support!
Now Ishihara and the design staff will take the design chosen by all of you and add the finishing touches.
Until our new heroine is alive and moving, we'll let you look at the rough drafts and early-stage artwork over in the Dev Room.
The game development community we're calling "Legends Dev Room" will be going live soon, so please stop by and see how things are developing!
Well, that's all I have for today!
Tune in next time when I'll give you more new details about the "Legends Dev Room"
PS. I still need your answers to the questions I asked in my last post!
