“Do you remember the faces of those you’ve met?”
This was the catch-phrase that gave the Legends series such great impact over 10 years ago. And now, we’re gathering ideas for the new townspeople, ones that will leave a lasting impression with those who play Legends 3! Or, if you’d like, we’re also gathering just lines for townspeople so check that out if you'd rather do something quick and easy!
To help you get started, here is some background information on the Mega Man Legends world and its townspeople.
And for those of how who are wondering, "How should I go about coming up with ideas!?" we offer you these helpful pointers from one of our planners!
Hit the jump for complete details!
How to Submit an Idea
Please use the following examples as a template when submitting your ideas. Please note:
+ We will delete submissions that do not fit the criteria of the contest and the template below.
+ Do NOT go over your character limit.
+ Please include the image of, or state clearly which of the three characters you are writing for.
Please submit your idea in this forum thread.
One entry per reply, please, and PLEASE follow the format outlined or else your entry will be deleted.
Character Limits
Character limits refers to the maximum number of characters that can be displayed across the width of the game screen. In this case, 35 characters can fit across the width of the screen, and 3 lines can fit vertically on the screen. All letters, numbers, and symbols count as 1 character each. Each space also counts as 1 character. Also, when typing ellipses, be sure to count each dot as a separate character. For more details, see “Mr. Horiuchi’s Tips on How to Create a Character.”
Entry Period and Selection
Japan and North America will have their own different criteria, but there will be 5 winners for each character (The number we’ll actually use will be decided at a later date).
+ The staff of the North American/European devroom will screen and/or select the winners. This includes jgonzo (community manager for MML3), mikeeb (territory marketing manager for MML3), Deezie (strategy marketing manager for MML3), and Gosei (associate manager for global marketing relations).
+ Based on the winners, the dev team will select what they will implement into the game.
The dev team reserves the right to make changes to the submission, such as when it is displayed in the game or shortening a line of dialogue.
Entry Period*: Tuesday, December 7th – Wednesday, January 5th, 10 AM
Announcement of Winners: Friday, January 14th
*All dates and times are subject to change.

Those who submit the best ideas will be rewarded with 15,000 Capcom Unity points and a special title of “Townspeople Planner”! (we're still working out how this will work, so this is subject to change)
Anyone who enters will automatically receive 1,000 Capcom Unity points once the contest is over.
+ No matter how many times you enter, you can only receive an award for submitting ideas once.
