Capcom Pet of the Month: April 2024

Apr 03, 2024 // David Poole

The new Capcom Pet of the Month is ready to spring into action!

Meet Finnegan, a 1-year-old tabby cat, and also the adopted brother of Dorothy. Sometimes going by Finn, Finny, or “Crazy,” he can be a real handful at times, and he’ll make sure you know that he doesn’t let anything get in his way.

Since he’s still young, Finnegan finds enjoyment in the little things. From cellophane pounce balls to small plastic springs, he can keep himself entertained fairly easily with these. Of course, his true goal is to finally obtain the “Red Dot of Doom” that occasionally shows up and eludes him. One day, perhaps…

When he’s not playing with his cat toys, Finnegan will often be found jumping on his older sister, Dorothy. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’ll ignore you, as he’ll take chances to sneak up and give you a random bite to show that he cares. Unfortunately, he’s not the type to let you pick him up, but he’ll make it up to you by wearing silly outfits and funny hats.

Tune in on the first Wednesday of every month to see the next Capcom Pet of the Month!

Capcom Creators – Women’s History Month 2024!

Mar 29, 2024 // Andy Wong

Women’s History Month is celebrated every March and highlights the importance women have had throughout our history. We’d like to take this time to spotlight a few of our inspiring Capcom Creators who strive to build a more inclusive community with their voices.

Meet them below and learn what inspires them every day!

What was your first Capcom game?Super Street Fighter II
What is the most positive thing about being a woman in gaming? This most positive thing about being a woman in gaming is getting to know and form friendships with other women who share my love of specific games. It’s nice to be able to be a part of a community like that.
In what ways can others support women in the gaming industry? We can support women in the gaming industry by sharing their content and helping to get their names out there, so that they have more opportunities.
Who or what inspires you? This can be either in your everyday life or within the gaming community.I’m inspired by other women who have worked very hard within the fighting game community to establish themselves as excellent competitors and content creators. Some great examples would be LostyGirl, Infinitii, Cuddle Core, Baeleena, and Persia.
What advice do you have for others getting started in content creation?Create the type of content that you love and that you’d want to see! People can tell whether or not your heart is in your content and they’ll appreciate it more if it’s something you genuinely care about.

What was your first Capcom game?Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
What is the most positive thing about being a woman in gaming? The ability to prove to others we are like anyone else, regardless of how we present. I want to be able to continue to prove this to anyone, and everyone.
In what ways can others support women in the gaming industry?Be open-minded, and kinder to not only others, but yourself too. Most women experience the same discriminations so we need to build each other up, as no one other than woman can understand our pain.
Who or what inspires you? This can be either in your everyday life or within the gaming community.I’m always inspired by seeing other likeminded women respect others, and build each other up. Sometimes women can get competitive towards each other, yet that only harms more in the long run. Even I’ve been intimidated to get close to other women sometimes, as I don’t know how they’re going to view me. But fortunately for myself, I have met so many amazing and inspiring, and hardworking women that I can look up to every day.
What advice do you have for others getting started in content creation?Be patient, and be kind to yourself. Content creation and reaching higher status in content creation doesn’t happen overnight. While to an extent, luck is a factor to “make it big” but in reality, if you have dedication, and care more about your community than the monetary gain, you can go far. (Also I’m not a cosplayer but I wanted to add this at the end as the next step is required to submit a photo so I have submitted the same photo twice.)

What is the most positive thing about being a woman in gaming? The most positive thing about being a woman in gaming is building healthy and welcoming connections with everyone in the gaming space. As women are natural nurturers, we are able to connect and share valuable experiences with everyone who shares passion and interest in gaming.
In what ways can others support women in the gaming industry? Not setting limitations on where and how women can participate in the world of gaming. Give space to experienced women fighters teach younger generations of gamers.
Who or what inspires you? This can be either in your everyday life or within the gaming community. My community inspires me in the world of gaming. I never thought that someone like me who was new in fighting games could inspire so many people within and outside of my community just by showing up and showing my love with gaming.
What advice do you have for others getting started in content creation?Work hard and be yourself. Not everyone is going to love what you’re doing or appreciate your content, but if you are happy and staying true to yourself every step of the way, there’s nothing you can’t do.

What is the most positive thing about being a woman in gaming? One of the positives in gaming being a woman is seeing how far the gaming space has evolved when it comes to inclusion and acceptance. There is still room for improvement but it’s nice to see how women are being more accepted into the gaming space than ever before.
In what ways can others support women in the gaming industry?A great way to support women in gaming is to support their work, acknowledge their accomplishments, and try to foster acceptance within you and your own community towards female gamers.
Who or what inspires you? This can be either in your everyday life or within the gaming community.I am constantly inspired by all the amazing women in gaming. From women in my family to those in my own community, I get inspiration and motivation to keep creating a space that’s accepting of all genders.
What advice do you have for others getting started in content creation? My advice is to have fun and passion when you are creating content. Also to remind yourself of your accomplishments whether they are big or small. Content creating is a journey, and it’s different for everyone.

What was your first Capcom game?OG Resident Evil 2 ♥️
What is the most positive thing about being a woman in gaming?I think the most positive thing for me is that I can share my love of games with other women. When I grew up, there weren’t many women around me that played games and games are something really close to my heart. Having the opportunity to share games that had a huge impact on me with other women that may have never played games before is such a fun experience!
In what ways can others support women in the gaming industry?I feel like the biggest thing for me is representation. Whether it’s a character in a game or just seeing women playing the game. Resident Evil 2 was one of my first video games and one of things that I loved the most about it was that I had the opportunity to be a strong female character. I love that Capcom has always given the option whether it was Jill, Claire, Ada, or Sheva.
Who or what inspires you? This can be either in your everyday life or within the gaming community.I’m most inspired by seeing the success of others closest to me. Whether it is my streamer friends, co-workers or loved ones, seeing people that I care a lot about pushing themselves and striving for greatness has always made me want to do the same.
What advice do you have for others getting started in content creation?Be consistent and do what you love. Come up with a schedule that works for you, so you don’t get burnt out. Also I found that sticking to games and activities that bring me joy brought people that felt the same and we could enjoy those things together. And as hard as it is because I’m guilty of it too, try your best not to pay attention to numbers.

What was your first Capcom game?Street Fighter 2
What is the most positive thing about being a woman in gaming? It’s been great to see the growing community of women in gaming. I’ve been gaming since I was in kindergarten, but back then I didn’t know many other girls that also gamed. Now there is a plethora of female representation whether they are gamers, creators, developers or even characters, we are represented so much more and it’s incredible to see us in these spaces.
In what ways can others support women in the gaming industry?Pushing each other to persevere and keep moving forward! Sometimes the environment can be overwhelming, but that unity and support goes a long way.
Who or what inspires you? This can be either in your everyday life or within the gaming community. There are a lot of people and things in my life that inspire me, and as time moves on those things adjust. However, one constant is wanting to be that representation and inspiration to others. I want to inspire others to work hard, show empathy and express yourself without second guessing.
What advice do you have for others getting started in content creation?Be consistent and don’t wait to start. Set a schedule and stick to it as best that you can and remember all versions of you are good enough.

FAQs

How can I confirm which channels are eligible for the campaign?

All Twitch Partner and Affiliate channels streaming in the Dragon’s Dogma 2 category will have the Support a Streamer campaign enabled unless the creator opts out of the campaign. However, since Insomnia Cookies are only available in the United States, only viewers in the US will be able to view and engage in the campaign. Please note that the stream needs to be live, and a re-run of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 stream would not count.

How do I purchase a subscription on Twitch?

Purchases may be made on either a mobile device or your PC. Detailed information on purchasing subscriptions can be found here, and information on purchasing gift subscriptions can be found here.

How many Twitch subscriptions do I need to purchase? Which Tier(s) are eligible for the campaign?

To qualify for the reward offer, users must purchase two new subscriptions which can be a combination of monthly subs, multi-month subs, or gift subs, as long as the cumulative support is two total subscriptions. The two subscriptions may be purchased at once, or one at a time over the course of the campaign, across multiple participating channels, or done on a single participating channel. Prime subscriptions are not eligible.

Where can I find my campaign rewards once I’ve earned them?

Campaign rewards will be delivered to your Twitch notification inbox once they have been earned. The notification inbox can be found to the right in the top navigation bar on Twitch. The reward will remain there until you delete the message. You can also find earned rewards within the Twitch Drops & Rewards Inventory page.

What should I do if I’m having a problem receiving my reward offer on Twitch?

Campaign reward offer delivery can take up to 24 hours to be sent once earned. You must subscribe to a streamer on the Support a Streamer list while they are online and streaming in the Dragon’s Dogma 2 category to obtain a reward offer. The offer link will remain there until you delete the message after completion of a qualifying purchase. If after waiting 24 hours and verifying that your purchases were made towards a participating streamer that was live streaming you still are facing problems, please contact Twitch Support while logged in.

What should I do if I received my Insomnia Cookies reward code on Twitch, but I’m having a problem redeeming the items on the website?

If you have successfully received your reward redemption code on Twitch and are having problems redeeming reward items on the Insomnia Cookies website, please contact customerservice@insomniacookies.com for questions or support regarding redemption of reward redemption code.

Capcom Pet of the Month: March 2024

Mar 06, 2024 // David Poole

March is here, and the next Capcom Pet of the Month wants to say hello!

This guy’s name is Miso, also known as Miso Bear. He is a 3-year-old rescue dog from Korea, brought by plane to the U.S. to meet his forever family. He is a Korean Jindo mix, although his parents have yet to get a doggie DNA test to figure out what his mix is. Nevertheless, he is a very loyal, protective boy who can also be very timid and skittish at the same time.

Despite his skittery tendencies, Miso is still a very captivating canine. Some of you may recognize him from his appearances on our Capcom TikTok channel. Whether he’s accepting his good boy petting, or offering his condolences at the end of a beta, Miso will always be sure to warm your heart.

As for daily activities, Miso loves to follow his mom around, bother his dad while he’s sleeping, watch dogs on TV, and get all the cuddles, hugs, and scritches he can get. He prefers doggie daycare over dog parks and he loves playing with his toys independently. When he gets excited to go out for a walk, he’ll happily spin in circles to prepare for his small journey.

Tune in on the first Wednesday of every month to see the next Capcom Pet of the Month!

Celebrating Black History Month with Capcom Creators 2024!

Feb 28, 2024 // Andy Wong

In this last day of February, we’re celebrating Black History Month and the Black Capcom Creators community. Take a moment to get to know these talented creators and what this month has meant to them.

I started making content in 2006. 18 Years. Twitch

What was your first Capcom game?

Mega Man

Why is representation important?

It’s important to never forget who you are and to represent yourself to the fullest. While we are looking for equality, we also don’t want to be lost looking for it.

How do you envision the future of gaming?

Where everyone can play their favorite games in peace.

What is your advice for people getting started in content creation?

Have fun and make an impact.

I started making content in 2009 but it was a bit harder back then & I use all the platforms, but I use TikTok the most.

What was your first Capcom game?

Street Fighter

Why is representation important?

Because I grew up without seeing anyone who looked like me. I never felt welcome in these communities until I created my own community.

How do you envision the future of gaming?

Less toxicity and more inclusion

Find your people, post the things you love no matter what people say, and take breaks!

NAME: RashadtheWizard

Pronouns: He/Him

Tell us a little about yourself! When did you start making content and why? How long have you been doing this? What is your main platform (Twitch, YT, TikTok)?

I am the captain of The Posse, a group collaborative based in Mississippi of my best friends who stream and promote community and unity for all gamer/anime/manga fans.

What was your first Capcom game?

I think Marvel vs. Capcom 2 but I was 5 when it came out. I’d like to say my first one I remember was Mega Man Zero. My first gamertag came from that game.

Why is representation important?

Representation is important because people need to know that there are characteristics about people that can be both different and beautiful to know. It’s so important that the youth grow up and learn to embrace the traits they know lead them deeper towards understanding and then loving themselves. The cultural impact of being able to learn about another’s origin and upbringing is important in being able to understand another’s motives, as well. For me, understanding is the first step towards love.

How do you envision the future of gaming?

I envision the future of gaming in a way that allows others to experience and play with their friends anywhere and everywhere.

What is your advice for people getting started in content creation?

The key really is hope in everything you do. Envision yourself doing something original and special to you and set out to create that, working around all limiters/doubters.

NAME: SapphireStarz11

Tell us a little about yourself! When did you start making content and why? How long have you been doing this? What is your main platform (Twitch, YT, TikTok)?

I’ve been making artwork for the series I love since I was a little kid, and that love never stopped! I’ve always adored making OCs and fan art for the series I enjoy, and I’m super happy it brought me here as a creator! My main platform for posting my artwork is on Twitter and Tumblr, but I also play games on the ShadowRockZX YouTube channel!

What was your first Capcom game?

Mega Man 5

How do you envision the future of gaming?

I want the future of gaming to be a space where anyone and everyone can come together and laugh, live, and love each other. It should be a space where we can all together and share what we hold dear to us, and support one another; and I hope to help build that future with my artwork.

What is your advice for people getting started in content creation?

Do it as a hobby first, as a passion and let it bloom from there! It’s never too late to start, and if it’s something you wish to do, there are many avenues to do so.

Capcom Pet of the Month: February 2024

Feb 07, 2024 // David Poole

It’s the first Wednesday of February, and that means a new Capcom Pet of the Month!

This is Peaches, but nobody ever calls her by that name, and it’s definitely unrelated to a certain song. She actually goes by Peachie, and that’s the name this bicolor domestic short hair will expect you to use. She was adopted from an animal shelter in Oregon roughly two years ago, but nobody seemed to know how she got there, or what her origins were.

While the mystery of Peachie’s past may never be solved, what we can determine is that this friendly feline is a big cuddler. The downside is that the amount of shed fur is seemingly endless, and lint rollers are a must when you’re around this furry friend.

When she’s not busy cuddling, Peachie can be seen playing with her mouse toys or anything involving strings. She’s also quite the foodie, and will happily devour anything in sight. Once play time is over and her stomach is full, she’ll take a nice, warm cat nap.

Tune in on the first Wednesday of every month to see the next Capcom Pet of the Month!
