Well low and behold, last Sunday my wife surprised me with the statement." We should get a new TV."
After I picked my jaw up off the floor and quickly pinching myself, I set out dusting off my previous stack of HD tv research and looked up what was the top Samsung TV when toyed with the concept of having an HD TV many moons ago.
I quickly scanned what was out now to compare to what I had singled out as the top dog and once I had made my selection, the family piled into the SUV and headed down to a Certain store.
I quickly walked over to the TV section and there, hanging with importance and looking like a technology pin up, was my future TV. My wife and daughter sat on a viewing couch behind me and we looked at our TV vs the others that were there and were very happy with the picture quality and the overall look of our new baby. My daughter who just turned 2 lost interest and wanted to run around and, " Look" at stuff, which usually consists of wanting to run off and touch things.
After my wife and I got her to come back ( An amazing feat in and of itself), I made eye contact with the closest employee and through my stare I communicated that I had in fact found the TV that I always wanted and had to get it right now.
Once we got it home and set up the 46 inches of goodness, I can now clearly see what I've been missing. My wife and I both agree that while it is a beautiful picture and the quality is amazing, we quickly realized that it is not due to our last TV sucking as much as it is the inherent leap forward HD TVs actually are over the prior technology of SD TVs.
We both love our new TV and couldn't be happier, except for now we have turned into TV snobs and only want to watch HD programming... get on the ball Comcast and bring us more HD programming!.
Also, I now have the task of gong back and playing all my games in HD and it is like I have brand new games all over again. Man... that's a lot of games to go back and play.... oh what a burden I will have to endure ;-)
