Welcome . . . Please, Make Yourselves At Home
Hi All! I am the Customer Support & eCommerce Manager which is part of our marketing department here at Capcom. I started in the video game business in 1993. Like many of my colleagues I started out as a game tester through a temp agency. Back then it was pretty cutthroat and most of the time you were hanging on to your job by your fingernails.
Don't get me wrong. In spite of the torn fingernails, I was in heaven. Many of my friends and family were very jealous and frequently peppered me with questions about how to get "a job like that." I was constantly defending my job from comments and questions like "You get to play video games for a living!?" I explained countless times how it was not "playing"; there was much more to it than that. You had to be willing to work long hours, odd shifts, perform repetitive tasks, write coherent bug reports and much more . . . But, as I said, I was in heaven. I made many long-lasting friendships and learned a lot.
Most of the people I currently work with have been in the video game industry in one form or another for quite a while now. We're all pretty far removed from testing these days. I'm sure I speak for most of them when I say we still consider it a privilege to work in such a dynamic, creative and fun industry. While we still have a lot of fun, we're all much more professional and mature now (most of the time). We work very hard at what we do.
Under the Marketing umbrella is Community, Public Relations and Communication, Product Marketing, Channel Marketing, Creative Services, Customer Support and eCommerce. We are the people you meet when you call our customer support line or attend events like E3, Wonder-Con, Comic-Con, Captivate, the Tokyo Game Show, our famous launch parties and many other events in a growing list.
So, come by and say "Hi" to us at our next event. We're happy to meet you and we share your passion. Without you, there is no Capcom.
Devil May Cry Collection & Other Capcom Store News
Hey ("M"ature) Kiddies! The Devil May Cry Collection is back in the Capcom Store! It includes 1, 2 and 3 for the PS2. It's been out of stock for about a year and many of you have asked that we carry it again. We're happy to be able to bring it back for a limited time.
Speaking of Devil May Cry, have you seen the new Kotobukiya ArtFX statues of Dante and Nero from Devil May Cry 4? The detail is amazing -- but isn't that what we have come to expect from Kotobukiya. I have Dante sitting on my desk and I still can't get over the fact that the zipper on his red duster actually has teeth! We're taking preorders now and we expect they will sell out quickly; partly because they look great but also because we were not able to get as many as we had hoped. A very small number of Vergil and Dante from Devil May Cry 3 are still available.
Thanks, by the way. The older titles that I have been able to bring back have been a big success. I am working on getting Okami for PS2 back in the store. It takes work to make it happen and it may not be for a couple of months but I think I can work it out. I think I'll have a couple of other surprises as well.
To those of you who have been patiently awaiting the arrival of your Mega Man Zero Official Complete Works and Street Fighter Eternal Challenge art books, thank you for your patience. We will have more in stock soon so please hold on a little longer.
Check out our new free shipping offer! We just rolled it out this week. Spend $75 or more and get free shipping on your order. Some of our collectable figures qualify all by themselves. We're also continuing our 15% off of 3 in our Hot Deals section. Some fans have taken advantage of this offer to collect all three Yamato Capcom Girls figures; Chun Li, Cammy and Morrigan. Other new features are coming very soon that will enhance your Capcom Store experience so check back often.
Come see us at ComiCon in San Diego July 24th through July 27th. We will have artists that contributed to our Street Fighter tribute book signing the books and possibly doing sketches. We'll also have a number of other items that will be exclusive to ComiCon.
