Resident Evil 6 Original Soundtrack is available now

Jul 31, 2013 // Yuri Araujo

Hey! You like video game soundtracks, don’t you? Of course you do… you’re reading the Capcom Unity blog, and Capcom is known for having games with awesome music. I’ve been collecting some Monster Hunter soundtracks for quite some time now and every import has been worth every cent.

Anyways, good new for you  Resident Evil  fans: the  RE6   Original Soundtrack  is now available for download at  iTunes , Sumthing Else and  Amazon.com

If you want to know more about the  pedigree of this album, here’s the list of internal Capcom composers that has worked on this, and their most recent projects:

  • Kota Suzuki (Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4 )
  • Akihiko Narita (Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
  • Akiyuki Morimoto (Monster Hunter 3, Lost Planet 2 )

We’ve also got the help of Thomas Parisch, Laurent Zilani, Daniel Lindholm and Sebastian Schwartz. Parish and Zilani were kind enought to share the following quote:

“Composing the main theme of Resident Evil 6 was a great honor for us, having been fans of the series for years. However, it was a challenge maintaining the franchise’s tradition while creating something new for this latest release.  Also, it was important to keep the music cohesive since it had to address very diverse dramatic situations throughout the gameplay. To keep that overall integrity, repeated thematic ideas were essential, and recording with a 90-piece orchestra brought key moments of the score to another level.”

And if you would like to sample some of the tracks, Sumthing Else has 30 seconds of all of them for you to listen – this part is free 😉
