This to me is particularly interesting when it comes to 8-bit (and 16-bit) games, given the visual gap between concepts and sprites, and even more so when

Let’s take another look back into the past with a closer look at some of the materials featured in our Museum section of the Gallery mode. This time, it’s all about the original packaging art.

Original materials from the late 80s and early 90s era of gaming are oftentimes really hard to find. Much like my 90s bedroom, archiving and organizing material in the industry just wasn’t super clean back then, so we worked closely with the experts at Digital Eclipse to find some great materials for this section of the game’s gallery.

On April 18, we get transported back to the early 90s with The Disney Afternoon Collection, but in the meantime, let's hop backstage and take a look at some of the rad extras featured in this package.

In addition to 6 classic gems, a nifty Rewind feature and new game modes, we've gathered a variety of original artwork from the games' development and marketing of that era and put them all in one gallery, divided into 4 categories: Pencil to Pixel, Museum, Original Artwork, and Odds & Ends.

This week, we'll take a look at Pencil to Pixel, a really cool category for fans of the games, the TV shows, or those that just like to see creation processes... or all of the above.

Starting with the header image, we see the original reference drawings for the TV show, on the left, and the rendition

Oh! Looks like you've been enjoying our games... thanks for that - we work really hard to bring them your way. And thanks to all of you who took the time to register your games on your Club Nintendo account. Just look at what you did:

Yep, if you clicked the link above (or this one: club2.nintendo.com/fanfaves/) you'll notice we have 4 of our titles listed in both Wii U and 3DS TOP TEN lists.

Again, you put these games on those lists. Now they sit glorioulsy next to big first party titles and powerful franchises, such as MarioZeldaPokémon, etc. This is a big deal!

And if you haven't played any of these yet... seriously, what are you waiting for? You can also read a couple of quotes from fans if you click the What fans said
