Good evening... or morning.
It's been a while... but that's not what I'm here to talk about.
So, this morning, as I was getting ready to leave the house, my little cousin (2 or 3 years-old, I think) was watching TV. I have many aunts, and many little cousins, so one of them was staying at the house today. But he wasn't the first one, and may not be the last, to stay over and watch TV in the morning.
My point, though, is that he was watching "Dora, the explorer". It's a fine show for kids, and I actually appreciate the effort on teaching Spanish at an early age. But, after seeing many cousins come by and watch TV in my house, I've NEVER, EVER, seen any of them reply to the questions asked by Dora and friends!
Dora: "Do you see the baby jaguar?"
Cousin = completely silent
- pause -
Dora: "Yes! Thank you. There's the baby jaguar!"
Or something to that effect...
The point it, it's ALWAYS like this! Dora asks a question, and doesn't get an answer, but always pretends she did, and continues the story... This shouldn't happen!
And that's where Project Natal comes in! Finally, Dora can be a little more patient and wait for my cousins to answer the questions!
And imagine if my cousin gives the wrong answer? There we go on a whole different path to the story! The episodes will be longer, and perhaps encourage critical thinking at a younger age. All that will be done with the most basic of interactions...
Project Natal could completely change the way we (or young relatives) watch Dora in the morning!
Though when I think of it, I realise I miss Woody Woodpecker and Popeye - which also taught very valuable lessons underneath the layer of violence. Popeye, for example, taught me spinach is good for you - and I love spinach!
=P
That's all!
See ya!

Sounds exciting. I'll be waiting, and I'm sure many will, to see your upcoming entry! Good luck with your game and the contest too.
