My Capcom FAQs: Bionic Commando Rearmed, WOTB: Commando 3, and 1942 Joint Strike

    Saturday, August 30, 2008, 02:26 AM [General]

Capcom has published a ton of great downloadable games recently. I've been writing FAQs for a while now, so I decided to tackle their three latest XBLA/PSN games:

    Bionic Commando Rearmed:
I put a lot of work into this one. I loved the original NES version and enjoyed Rearmed so much that I bought both the Xbox 360 and PC versions. Even people who have played through the game already may enjoy the series history and NES version comparison sections of the guide.

    1942 Joint Strike:
A classic-style shooter presented in HD widescreen, and it's not impossibly hard? Heck yeah... This guide mostly focuses on earning the game's Achievements, but there's also a series history.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3:
Bionic Commando fans may want to check out that game's distant cousin. My guide's main focuses are another Achievement guide and series history.

Please check them out and let me know what you think. You might be wondering if I'll do a strategy guide for Mega Man 9... I don't know, have you seen that game's Achievements? I'm sure MM9 will be loads of fun to play, but mastering it will require a significant commitment. We'll see!

If you guys like these guides, you might also enjoy the interview I did at IGN FAQs.

I'm going to ask Seth to put this on the main page. :)

I found another glitch in 1942. If you bomb right before a "cutscene" (in the middle of the level where it kind of goes sepia and you hear the old film reel sound effect) such that it interrupts your plane's loop, you can still fire/bomb/strike while going through the cutscene. This was handy for getting rid of bombs in the limbo contest. :)
