    Wow, depressing.

Well, first up, as usual, still no luck finding Street Fighter II issue #1 3rd printing for sale anywhere. Again, if knows where I can get one of these things that were originally given out at SDCC this past year, a heads up would be great.

And now back to the blog. After the bright idea I had in my previous blog post, the Capcom Suggestion box went up and so I thought I'd put the idea up there. I'm not sure if people really think it's that bad an idea, or if everyone who posts something up there downvotes everyone else's suggestions to try to move their's up the line, but mine's not doing so hot. Apparently the most wanted suggestions are for game's Capcom's already made repeatedly. Now, I'd love a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as much as the next guy, but since the first 2D X-men fighting game Capcom did, there's been a total of 6 Marvel 2D fighters from Capcom. The suggestion box is a wide open slate to suggest anything you could think of and would like to see wether it has a chance of happeing or not, and people really seem to just want ANOTHER of the same game, as though Capcom hasn't already thought of such a thing. They made 6 Marvel fighters, I'm sure they can figure that one out. The same really goes for the SNK vs Capcom front. I'd gladly play a new one, but I just don't think they need suggestions for that from us to figure it out.  Anywho, anyone reading this who thinks a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs. Capcom game might be fun, please by all means go to the Capcom Unity Suggestion box pick "vs series" from the drop down menu and go to the last page. It's pretty much the last one there, so please, give a thumbs up if you think it could be interesting. www.capcom-unity.com/go/suggestion/box

I dunno, with the whole ninja/martial arts theme of the turtles, it just seems like this would be a good fit. I'm tempted to do a series of blog entries each profiling a different TMNT character that could be in the game, with some background on the character and maybe some move ideas. I mean seriously. If Omega Red, Silver Samurai, and a giant freakin' cactus can be in a vs. game, this doesn't seem like much of a stretch.

Ah well, that's the end of my rant for that. I'll just add some more cool pictures of the comic version of the characters again for an idea of the style that I think would be good in a vs. game like this. Back to less ranting and raving based topics, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is absolutely a blast. I'm really glad Capcom was able to work out licensing and get this in the U.S. Anyone who hasn't bought this game, seriously you really should stop reading this and go do it now. It's amazing, and we gotta let Capcom know we want more of these, and the only real way to do that is with sales.

On a similar topic the Gonzo developed Super Street Fighter 4 animation project looks fantastic. The trailer even went up on Xbox Live in the U.S. so if this animation project doesn't see release in the U.S. well, that's just mean.

In other comic book related news, Greg Rucka and JH Willians III's run with Batwoman on Detctive Comics wrapped up and was amazing, looks like they'll be getting their own solo book to continue her story, so that's cool. Grant Morrison's Batman and Robin book just keeps getting better, and Blackest Night hasn't been too shabby either. Anyway, that's the big stuff I've been reading (aside from the usual awesome stuff Udon keeps putting out, still waiting on that first issue of Darkstalkers though!), so here as promised, some more pics from around the internets of the TMNT style that I'd really like to see in a Vs. game.

    New Ideas!

Thursday, December 17, 2009, 01:35 PM CST [General]

Well, yet again it's been a while. My quest for a copy of the SDCC 3rd printing of Street Fighter II issue #1 from Udon has kept me away from the blog and on eBay for a while, and still I've had no luck. On the plus side Matt from Udon over on the Udon thread in the Street Fighter group has said they have more and are looking for a way to get more into the public's hands. I'm hoping I can get one whenever that happens. I just hope it's online and not exclusive to another convention as with a child here, I can't travel much anymore.

Anyway, in my search for that book, I've ended up collecting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics again(don't ask how that happened I'm not even sure myself). I was collecting at one time and for some reason kinda fell off. I've started again and I'm almost caught up with everything I've missed now, but buying these books gave me a great idea.

Viacom (through its Nickelodeon branch) just bought out the rights to the TMNT property lock stock and barrel. Having done that, I'm thinking maybe they need to renegotiate who they are licensing out the TMNT video games to. I think Capcom could make some great TMNT stuff, but more importantly, how AMAZING would a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs. Street Fighter (or Capcom) game be? Seriously Capcom, you need to get on this. Giving the giant cast (and I'd say go with the comic book cast, the characters are much cooler there) each a great 2D fighting move set with special moves and all would make a sweet Vs. game.

    Capcom, get on it!
