This thread is for Redi's crash (it's easier to track different issues in their own threads). Problem: I installed Flock! on my other PC (Windows XP SP2) after having updated DirectX. First time it starts, great. In the game I modify the resolution and get prompted to restart. I restart, and the game crashes. I tried to modify the FlockSavedGame file to let it run windowed, but it seems to be encrypted somewhat? Maybe because of Steam? Anyway the 'fullscreen' option was visible so I set it to 0 but no joy, it keeps crashing no matter what I do. DXDiag Posted Here: http://flock.pastebin.com/m63cfc38c Solution: I took a look at your DXDiag, and your display driver looks kinda old. Can you try updating it please? |

Will do later, but how would the game run the first time but not anymore afterwards? And Vista 64-bit on my other PC had more or less the same thing (DX10)... Will keep you informed. |

Hey redi, also try running with async loading off... not sure if it'll help, but we should try all the fixes available to us :) |

Updated to latest nVidia driver: same crash at start-up. Added -a to shortcut: same crash.
I added the DxDiag of my PC after the driver update: http://flock.pastebin.com/m2672f5ca
Is there some logging that can be activated to see where and why exactly it crashes? |

One more thing: the Steam install comes with a directx sub-folder. I updated DX through the web updater when the problems with Flock! started, but maybe I should run the setup from this folder as well? |

Hmm... maybe try forcing windowed mode with the command line parameter '-t'? |

Tried running it with the "-t" option as well, and some combinations of other options as mentioned in the readme, but still no joy. |

I checked the error report that XP generates and it contains 57 different modules! Do you want me to post the report? |

I couldn't copy the text from the report, only the accompanying text file it created. Here it is: http://flock.pastebin.com/m11c06bfa |
