Awesome. I have Mark of the Wolves for my Dreamcast, but I would like to see SNKP rerelease the game in the future (perhaps in SNK Arcade Classics Vol.2?). |

Garou is really fun, although I'm no fighting game expert, but I have played this a couple of times and man does the sprite work impress as always. SNK are really king with their NeoGeo format. Or was, atleast. :P |

Comes out in like an hour from now. I'm sitting here waiting going crazy lol. 800 MS Points ($10) is cheaper than buying the neogeo cart or the arcade itself.

*bought it and basically played it for 2 hours straight* I got hyped when I saw it was coming to Live arcade a couple days ago because I never played it before & people say it's "SNK's solution to Street Fighter 3". I have to say so far I like it more than most of the KOF games. *the following is more of a review for people who are considering buying it but never really played it before* This is a straight-up port of Garou: Mark of the Wolves from how it appears, meaning no real extra modes are added to the game aside from online play and the visuals are the untouched 16-bit sprites SNK used up until KOF XII, meaning no sprite filters like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is getting. The single player modes only consist of Arcade and survival while you also have offline and online versus. I"m not trying to sound negative right here if I do, i'm just explaining exactly what you get in case if you were expecting a little more. Garou plays mostly like KOF without the team system but the controls feel a bit more fluid. The controls are simple to use if you've ever played a fighting game before, nothing drastically different. You have access to all 14 characters from the start(that icludes the 2 final bosses which are offscreen). All of them are likable which is really good for any fighter. The music is this game fits perfectly and I really like the choice in announcer. On the con side, the game feels unpolished, which most SNK fighter's suffer from. There is no adjustable difficulty setting from what I saw (incase if you are really bad at fighting games and the continue service isn't really helping or if you are a fighting game expert and you wanted a really tough challenge), which is probably because of achievements and preventing you from getting them too easily along with the leaderboards. Online match-up rooms restrict you to 2 people per room, which is sort of a drag in case if liked the online set-up in most fighters. And lastly, 800 Microsoft points(which is about $10 USD for those who didn't know already) seems a bit expensive for the amount of work put into this port and little content this fighter has to offer. I'm not saying its a bad buy but it seems like it should more priced around $5-$7, but I suppose its pricetag can be partly justified seeing how this is like the game's first ever rerelease. All in all, i'd say i'd give it a 8.5/10 as of now.

SNK needs to put some effort into localization. The game description and achievements are poorly translated, and the game is listed as "GAROU MOW" which I don't think is going to draw as much interest as "Fatal Fury MOW" or "Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves". Oh well, the game is still great.
