Keep in mind i haven't played Bayoneta and don't want to. It seems that ( and im just assuming here) that Bayoneta is a copy of DMC, just spun around to make it not look so.
No matter the cost, it's for the Cheese.

...The director of Bayonetta is Hideki Kamiya, the creator of Devil May Cry, so what would you expect?

I'm not touching it because I'm sick of video games trying to stimulate something other than my mind.
There's no right way or wrong way. You just have to live. And so I do what I do, and atleast I exist. What could mean more than this? What would mean more? Mean more?

Hideki Kamiya, the director of the original DMC, RE2, Viewtiful Joe and Okami - doesn't make shallow games! He's one of those consistently good directors that's delivered time and time again, he displays a very good understanding of what it takes to make a very good game. RE2, considered by most RE fans to be their favourite alongside REmake, DMC which became the benchmark for 3D hardcore action games, VJ an innovative sidscroller, Okami a highly acclaimed innovative and unique adventure game - this guy's track record speaks for itself. I'm seriously looking forward to Bayonetta since DMC4 was a major disappoint to me and the series' future doesn't look too good to me. If it was anyone other than Kamiya I certainly wouldn't be looking forward as much. The original DMC owed a lot of its succes to him, if he stayed as director the series would be in a much better state. Reading about Bayonetta's combat so far it seems to be going in a postive direction. Not only that this developer is PlatinumGames, ex-Clover + new talent so expect quality. |

The only disappointment would have to be Hideki's current perspective on his very own franchise, Devil May Cry. From Bayonetta's stand point, it's understandable how he'd like a new sequel to the DMC series but now he feels that his part is over for the series. What he had previously done was superb but why not simply take it back(While under Capcom) and render the game back to it's environment? via Kotaku his first response.

Yep, i've read that before. I would love it if he takes charge of the series, however Kobayashi's in charge now with his lame ideas, DMC4 is a load of crap compared to Kamiya's original vision. For Kamiya to come back he's either going to have to deal with the lame crap that's accumulated throughout the series, and/or retcon and completely ignore DMC2 & 4 - which is obviously not going to happen. Kamiya's original vision of Dante being a mature, older man, yet badass rockstar is replaced with an overly cocky assclown that it's become popular culture for gamers to think that Dante being a 'cheesball' is actually a feature of Dante's personality (Look what they done to him!?". The original's gothic, horror inspired and somewhat realism (Blade 1998 inspired) almost completely set aside for fantasy like designs and anime inspired movements. The original's atmospheric, orchestral, thematic sounds tainted by the inclusion of J-Pop/Rock alongside overly done rock vocals. The series' general western influence getting replaced more and more with Japanese mainstream influence ruining the series unique sense of being. DMC1's rough yet epic plot >>> DMC4's anime inspired trash. The series' standards have fallen very low. If DMC4 is the sign of things to come then things are going to get much worse - especially considering its success, giving Capcom little incentive to return the quality back to its original status quo. |

Its the exact same as Genji was ex capcom Eployee who didnt want to make Omnishua Games anymore but then makes a Omnimishua Rip off,...and bad too.
Yeah I donno whats wrong with them they leave capcom to make a name for a company (tooks years for some reason) then make a game on the Wii along with developting on that is just like DMC same theme and all..
Originality I think not.. I will get it though for the GF loves DMC

You guys are talking as though Kamiya's some one hit wonder, lol, he's one of the most talented directors there is and probably the best, all of his games have ranged from between 'very good' and 'excellent' and nothing below. Bayonetta's no DMC imitation, it's its own identity with its own unique quirks, it obviously carries a DMC feel to it but that's only because they both share the same director and his inherent way of doing things and they're both hardcore action games. IMO this game will be better than DMC4 and probably better than DMC3. |
