District 9 IMDB  8.7/10

Plot Summary:

In 1990, a massive star ship bearing a bedraggled alien population, nicknamed "The Prawns," appeared over Johannesburg, South Africa. Twenty years later, the initial welcome by the human population has faded. The refugee camp where the aliens were located has deteriorated into a militarized ghetto called District 9, where they are confined and exploited in squalor. In 2010, the munitions corporation, Multi-National United, is contracted to forcibly evict the population with operative Wikus van der Merwe in charge. In this operation, Wikus is exposed to a strange alien chemical and must rely on the help of his only two new 'Prawn' friends. Written by  Kenneth Chisholm (kchishol@rogers.com

Just note that 1990 Date is wrong was 1989 in film.

I enjoyed the Film a Lot. We all did down here (In South Africa).  Very Good Movie Believable too especialy since it makes you think of the things that are happing in townships (illegal imagrants).

I saw a free advanced screening. I thought it was alright. Nothing too special.

Loved it!  Hard to believe it was made for only $30 million, when a movie like G.I. Joe had a budget of $175 million.

Sounds like a more dystopian version of Alien Nation.

I support a classic RE Franchise Reboot. Just say "no" to online multiplayer!

I thought it was a great movie. The ending was on key and the rest of it played out fantastically.

Also, pig cannon. Nuff said.

There's no right way or wrong way. You just have to live. And so I do what I do, and atleast I exist. What could mean more than this? What would mean more? Mean more?

I was hoping to watch it but wasn't sure how well it'd go. I'll watch it since all the accounts sum up to  average+.
