It's Sony, I'm not surprised. They never seem to make up their mind and it's always a newer version here or dramatics changes there. I'd rather prefer the whole ordeal to be cleared up because The PS3 should remain to have a gratis pass. Microsoft can do it with their silver accounts...

Implement premium features that you pay for and we are good to go.

I got this message too. But one thing gets me about it... it comes right around the time of all these spam/chain mail messages being passed around by other people that choose to fall for them. I usually delete the message and block/delete the user that sent it to me. The timing is too imperfect as it has a high chance at being false at this point.

Also, the only reason why I read this message (partially before coming to my senses), is because my naive brother read it before I got home from work and he took it seriously. I sighed and told him to delete it (and to stop checking my messages).

Why would they do such a thing to PSN? The PSN is the only way to get psp game for the psp go system (ditial download only), and without psn being free, People wouldn't be able to get game for the psp go at all. So why put a fee on a service, and have people buy a portable device that is download only!?

I'm sure it would be like the Xbox 360 where you get access to the market and have a friends list, but you can't play online or use any other online based service without paying.

Wouldn't surprise me. This is Sony we're talking about here.

Now Playing: Halo 3: ODST, Halo 3, Need for Speed Shift, Call of Duty 4, Battle Stations Pacific.

Me neither. I mean Sony knows they would get some major back lash from that, and they're doing pretty well without charging us for it. They're not going to start charging us for it. I'm about 99.9% sure of that.

How about in the context of adding "luxury" features to the online. Stuff like the party chat system the 360 has, access to special deals and opprotunities, ext.?

I wouldn't mind paying for stuff like that.
