This is what I'm talkin' about!

    Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 12:09 PM [General]

SF:HD Remix is superb. The attention to every detail is exquisite. While the concept of SF might seem a bit more simplistic than some of todays other fighters, I think that the blast to the past gameplay is exactly what I needed. I love hopping online and having friendly matches (getting my butt handed to me now and then), going through the Single Player Arcade mode, and just horsing around in training mode attempting to hone my skills with any one character.

Another thing that I find amazing is that (while some might not agree or like it) I am quite pleased with the remix tweaks to make gameplay more about the strategy and less about executing the motion for a move. I thank whoever thought of this becuase I'm loving the hell out of playing as Cammy (a character I never played as before) and am expanding my palette beyond that of Feil Long and Ken.

So, joy is me that Street Fighter has been released. It is good and I am content. Thanks a bunch for this, Capcom. You've made at least one gamer's holiday a great one.

Bring on Tatsunoko vs Capcom AND Street Fighter IV. Oh baby, I cannot wait.

If you're in the mood for a friendly match, then let me know.

    Aaannnnd it's all over.

The Press Kit buzz that's been igniting this forum is dying off. I see it as a mixed bag, of sorts. On one hand, a new variety of threads will be showing up while, on  the other hand, poster activity may die off, putting the boards in a lull.
All of us who were privileged enough to get promo codes (congrats to us all and thanks to Snow and Capcom, once more!) were given a great honor. I only hope that the majority of you guys stay on here and active (even if it means checking in and posting for two seconds a week).

Let's show Capcom that, although we might have come for the press kit, we're staying because of our love for the company and it's products. That and french silk pie. Always, french silk pie.

***Note: I'm completely ignoring the few other contests that Capcom is having for said kits in this post mainly because those are going to freaking tough to score. Especially with the competition that I've witnessed here. So, that being said, not all is lost...yet.

Can MM9 help usher in more 2D titles?

    Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 12:32 AM [General]

I really would like to know the sales data on MM9 (for all three consoles combined).

My hope is that Mega Man 9 does phenomenally well and, that fiscal return, attracts the attention of some other publishers.

How I crave a new 2D Metroid, Contra (especially after 4), Super Mario (a console release), etc.

Another hope is that with MM9's huge success (hopefully), Capcom will begin to churn out more of the good ol' blue bomber. Mega Man 10 would be a first day buy for me (staying up all night waiting for it to hit the VC, as I did for 9).

Don't get me wrong, 3D is great but, man, do I miss my beloved 2D gaming.

    Win Megaman 9 on VC!

    Monday, October 6, 2008, 04:01 AM [General]

I blogged about this before (see previous blog post) and, with the help of some members of this wonderful community, here is the contest.

I hope you can check it out and participate. Hopefully this'll brighten up someone's day.

Giving the gift of classic gaming.

    Sunday, October 5, 2008, 01:30 AM [General]

You know what? Life is good. All you have to do is relax, slow down, and enjoy it. Thanks to Capcom, Megaman 9 brought back gaming joy that I've not had in years. Who knew that returning to the old 8-bit glory of gaming was the shot in the arm that I needed to reinvigorate my passion for gaming.

I have fond memories of my gaming past and vividly remember staying up waaayyy past my bedtime (risking one heck of a scolding) just to finish one more level of Castlevania III, beat one more boss in Megaman, play one more round of Street Fighter 2, or conquer another castle in Super Mario.

Seeing as such, I'd love to give someone else a chance to have a similar experience; be it reliving their past or being introduced to old school gaming bliss by the likes of one great game.

Here's what I want to do and where I need your help (mods and community members alike):

I'd like to give someone the chance to experience Megaman 9 by gifting them the game on the Wii (sorry PS3 and Xbox owners). My question is: How do you think I should go about doing this? As much as I'd love to have an online pie eating contest (with Megaman Banana cream pies), it's just not feasible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'll try to figure something out by Monday. This way, whatever is decided can end on Friday (so whoever gets the game will have a full weekend to enjoy it). Oh and I'd need your Wii friend code, naturally, but those details can come at a later time.

Once more, enjoy life and take it easy.
