I hope the weather has regained its sanity down there and warmed back up to where it's supposed to be!

Yikes, sorry to hear about your friend and the gas money, I'm so glad your sister lived close enough to come help you guys out! The envelope system is really good for con training, I highly recommend it. I hope it works just as well for you! =)

I'll be sure to check your gallery more thoroughly too, there are so many great photos- and your collection of RE goodness is amazing! ^_^

I know, seriously! The first year I ever went to a convention I (fortunately) followed the advice of one of my friends who was a seasoned con veteran. She told me to sit down and work out a budget/spreadsheet that showed the cost of everything, including food. I was stunned by how much it added up to and drastically reduced the “spending money” section to help out a bit. Then I split the money up into envelopes (room, gas, food, badge, etc) so I wouldn’t be tempted to pull funds from different areas (“I don’t need to eat today, I’d rather have this Resident Evil pin/hat/t-shirt/poster/figure!”). ^_^

My first year the technique was a lifesaver and probably prevented me from flattening my bank account in the overwhelming excitement that is the Dealer’s Room. Several of my friends who just relied on using their credit/debit cards seriously drained their accounts. Thankfully we can all budget accordingly now (and it makes me choose what I want to buy much more carefully), so I just review the cost before the trip and just use my card/cash wisely. And I completely agree, being in the vender/dealer room when your flat broke on your spending money is a rough experience >_<. But yeah, there’s no way I could afford more than two cons a year, but that makes the events even more special. =)

I think your cosplay looks awesome, you make a fantastic Jill! It’s wonderful that you’re part of a group of RE cosplayers, that really enhances the con experience. Yay for in-character antics too :D! Epic about the Nemesis cosplay, I can’t imagine how hot that must be o_o (have they thought about installing little personal fans inside to keep the mask cool? I’ve heard of cosplayers doing that with heavy costumes). Aw! He’s a Barry cosplayer? Very nice! It sounds like a great group. :D

Your stepmother sounds awesome! And you have a stop sign umbrella sign? That’s so cool! ^_^

Sorry to hear that, although I totally understand. Cons are so expensive when you add everything together, it never ceases to amaze me sometimes >_<. That's why I only go to two cons a year (Anime Weekend Atlanta and Otakon), I honestly couldn't afford anymore XD. Plus it takes so much time, effort, and organizing to get ready for one, I think it makes it even more of a special event if you just go to one or two. =)

I have a friend who attends MetroCon and she always has a great time (not an RE cosplayer though). Wow, whole RE cosplay clans? Amazing! Usually I just go with my friends, and then we meet up and hang out with other RE cosplayers (old friends and new ones) at the photoshoots. It's always alot of fun and a great way to meet new people. ^_^
