This is my first post on this forum. I joined because I wanted to express myself when it comes to the DLC era which is starting to milk us dry. DLC started out good, but now it's getting out of control....
Christian Svensson, vice president of Strategic Planning & Business Development for Capcom had this to say about the whole DLC Versus Mode/scandle:
"This is the part where I get to say "BS"," he wrote on the Capcom forums. "RE5 is well worth every penny of $60. A huge game, with tons of replay value, loads of unlockables, new weapons, co-op, mercenaries mode, etc. If any game warrants its price point, it's RE5.
"Prior to the announcement of the Versus mode, no one complained they weren't getting their money's worth with the initial release because it packs TONS of value because it is an amazing game. So if people were already satisfied with what the package had, when we offer MORE, why is it people feel they've been somehow cheated? If you don't find value in our secondary offerings, the choice is simple, don't purchase it. If you do find it valueable (and we hope you do) please do buy it and enjoy it."
Here's what I say:
Those comments really burn me. Of course RE5 is worth the price. But don't tell me your "BS" comment like that when RE4 was CLEARLY a better game and by the way-MUCH longer than RE5's short 8 hr stint. Ok, maybe 12 if you are slow. Plus, I don't remember Assignment Ada and Separate Ways costing "extra". The DLC era started out good, but now companies are milking it with short content that costs 400-800 MP. I could care less about Versus Mode. Give me something like Assignment Jill or something with Wesker. Maybe a Wesker mission where he meets up with Spencer (as seen in the flashback scenes in RE5).
I don't mean to come down hard here, but my frustration with this DLC has come to a head. RE5 is a great game (Not anywhere near RE4 IMO) but I really want some solid DLC. Sadly, the days of games like RE4 being made and including GREAT extras are a thing of the past...
