    One Year Later

    Monday, November 2, 2009, 06:24 AM [General]

It's been one year since I joined Capcom Unity. Let's take a look at my states: I have 37 friends on my friend's list, over 16,000 points and over 1000 post count. I'm also switching back to my original user name, "JazzyNYC99."

Here's how it all started, I wanted to find a web site that has a lot of Street Fighter related discussions, so I google "Capcom" and I ended up with a link to Capcom Unity. Then I was like, "What the heck, I'll join and show my support for SFIII characters for SFIV." But I didn't realised that I would be stopping by on this site as often than I expected.  What I ended joining to was a great site.

I have met a lot of great people over the past year: such as Truestrike, Shine Akuma, Mr. H, Ouji San, and many others I can't remember. They're were other users whom, sadly, have been banned, such as the great Artayes, and Toki. Actually, Toki got banned about a couple of weeks after I joined up. Oh, and don't think I haven't forgotten lyinguderoath, she was a great user until she became the troll that she was. It's a good thing she got banned in the end.

It has been a lot of fun, and hopefully it will continue forward. =)

I Just Finished Playing Shenmue I & II

    Sunday, November 1, 2009, 07:44 PM [General]

Back in September I posted a blog about me playing Shenmue for the first time. I finished that game, and a couple of weeks later, I decided to play through that game again. Soon, during my second playthrough, I order a copy of Shenmue II

My experience was the first game was great. It's surprising on how plot development can keep the interest of the game going. Though it's not go to say that the gameplay was not interesting at all, or straight-up "garbage" as some might say;  there were some addicting aspects to it. In my second playthrough, I decided to focus more on exploring the areas of that game, like walking into bulitings and talking to many people as I can. I became heavily addicted to purchasing products from the convince store because of the raffle tickets. I won all of the cassette tapes and the Saturn version of Space Harrier.

I'll tell you, I've spent a crap load of time just playing Space Harrier. I never beat the game - I ended up getting up to level eleven. The theme song of Space Harrier was defiantly something something, it was the type of song that just gets you so amped up, and for some reason, I'd felt like running every time I listen to it.

And there's also the forklift, a forklift racing game? The thing that made it funny was that cheesy heavy-metal music that was playing in the background.

Now moving on to Shenmue II. Shenmue II was defiantly a huge improvement upon the original game. The story was longer and better, the city was much, much larger than the city of the first game,  and there was a lot more gameplay elements. At first, I had a hard time figuring out my way around the city of Hong Kong, but overtime I got passed that. But the city itself was very well design that I spent like the first week (when I mean first week, I mean in the game) just walking around exploring most of the nook & cranny of Hong Kong. The areas of the game was just breathing with life.

I'm really glad I finally got to experience the Shenmue seres. I can see how some people were sad with the ended of Shenmue II, I don't want to give much away, but it is annouying when the game fades to black, with texts appearing that says "The story goes on. . ." It's annoying because a lot of fans can see that Shenmue III is highly unlikely. Let's hope that things will change and Shenmue III will happen.
