Dark Void's amazing soundtrack is playing non-stop in my car's CD player. And for good reason: Bear McCreary (of Battlestar Galactica fame) has composed an incredible soundtrack that tugs on a variety of emotions.
As of today, you can now purchase the Dark Void soundtrack from iTunes, Amazon, and other fine retailers.
Bear McCreary himself has this to say:
Anyone who’s ever enjoyed a single CD of mine better check this out, because it ranks right up there with the best albums I’ve ever put together. Second (perhaps) only to the double-disc BSG Season 4 album, this music is the most sweeping, epic and kick ass soundtrack I’ve ever created.
G4tv recently reviewed the album:
The album itself... is by far one of the best examples of a game’s score rendered into album form.
The blending of orchestra, electronic and rock instrumentation combine perfectly to create the music’s unique feeling and is truly one of the better examples of combining so many genres of sound into one cohesive composition. The electric bass lines added in just the right amounts were an inspired choice by McCreary, and expertly performed by former Oingo Boingo four-stringer, John Avila.
In addition, the Dark Void Zero soundtrack should be available soon exclusively on iTunes (as of this writing, it is not available yet). Retro fans should definitely check it out (especially if you enjoy the music of Mega Man).
