Mega Man Soccer Secrets Revealed

Sep 27, 2010 // jgonzo

As a kid, I lived off of weekly video game rentals from my local Blockbuster and I managed to go through video games faster than they could stock new ones. As a consequence, I’d end up renting the same game multiple times and playing them over and over. Mega Man Soccer was one of those games.

Released in the Spring of 1994 (I was in third grade), Mega Man soccer was one of those unique games that took a risk with a well established character (Mega Man) by putting them in a completely different game setting. I remember spending the following summer practicing until I was able to defeat my brothers and cousins. They got mad, so I stopped playing against them, but I had an incredibly fun time with the game!

Anyway, one of the strangest things I remember is that when you finished the game, you were immediately taken to the title screen. No credits or anything. Protodude’s Rockman Corner has written a fantastic article based off of the work done by website The Cutting Room Floor  that talks about a hidden credits screen, as well as pulled multiplayer support and Dr. Wily as a playable character.

Wait, what?! Check out the full article here for a lot more details.
